Osterrieth Range
Osterrieth Range () is a mountain range extending in a NE-SW direction along the southeast coast of Anvers Island, in the Palmer Archipelago. Discovered by the Belgian Antarctic Expedition, 1897–99, under Gerlache, and named by him for Mme. Jacques Ernest Osterrieth,, Ernest Osterrieth, née , a patron of the expedition. Mountain
A mountain is an elevated portion of the Earth's crust, generally with steep sides that show significant exposed bedrock. Although definitions vary, a mountain may differ from a plateau in having a limited Summit (topography), summit area, and is usually higher than a hill, typically rising at least 300 metres (1,000 feet) above the surrounding land.
