Oslo Ess
Oslo Ess is a Norwegian rock/ punk band from Moss with Åsmund Lande as vocalist/guitarist, Peter Larsson on guitar and Knut-Oscar Nymo on bass. Lande and Larsson used to play in another formation and launched the band. Although Oslo Ess doesn't have a permanent drummer, a number of drummers have played with the band including Håvard Takle Ohr, Steffen Skau Linnert, Tommy Akerholdt, Kim Akerholdt and Mads Golden. The band released their debut album ''Uleste bøker og utgåtte sko'' on Råtass Records on 11 March 2011. The album reached #9 on Norwegian Albums Chart. This was followed up in 2012 with a new album ''Verden på nakken, venner i ryggen'' that hit #4 on the Albums chart in its first week of release. Their most successful single has been "Caroline". The band's lyrics are mostly about partying and nightlife, reflecting partly Jokke and Raga Rockers, but in a contemporary style of the 2010s. Joachim Nielsen
Joachim Nielsen (8 September 1964 – 17 October 2000), better known as Jokke, was a Norwegian rock musician and poet. He was the frontman of Norwegian rock band Jokke & Valentinerne, the brother of cartoonist Christopher Nielsen, and son of the artist John David Nielsen. He is considered to be one of the greatest songwriters in Norway. By the mid-1990s, Jokke had developed a heroin addiction, and had several stays at rehabilitation clinics. By the turn of the millennium, many of his close friends believed that he had conquered his addiction. However, he died suddenly of a heroin overdose in October 2000, aged 36. In 2005, a double tribute album entitled ''Det beste til meg og mine venner'' (''The best for me and my friends'') was released, which featured cover versions of Jokke's best known work from Norwegian artists. Raga Rockers
Raga Rockers is a Norwegian rock band from Oslo with Michael Krohn on vocals. The band was formed in 1982 by front man Michael Krohn. The other original members were Livio Aiello on bass, Bruno Hovden on guitar, Jan Arne Kristiansen on drums, Hugo Alvarstein on keyboards. They recorded their first album in 1983, called ''The Return of the Raga Rockers''. One year later they recorded their second album, ''Maskiner i Nirvana''. Tore Berg on guitar in 1984 and Nils Aune on guitar and keyboards in 1988. The band has made various changes in its line-up with more recent joiners including Hugo Alvarstein, Eivind Staxrud and Hågen Rørmark. After a long hiatus from 2000 onwards, the band had a big comeback in 2007 with their album ''Übermensch'' that topped the VG-lista, a Norwegian albums chart and the single "Aldri mer" taken from the album making it to number five in the Norwegian singles chart. Rockefeller Music Hall
Rockefeller Music Hall, ordinarily referred to simply as Rockefeller, is a concert venue located in Torggata, downtown Oslo, Norway. The building, known as "Torggata Bad" ("Market Street Bath"), used to house a public bathing facility. To this day the surrounding floors of the building consists of Tilt Oslo, Torggata Bar, Oslo Streetfood and Oslo Bar & Bowling. The music hall was established in 1986, and it can host between 1600 and 2000 people depending on the type of gig, show or festival currently running. Rockefeller is owned by the Rockefeller Music Hall Company, of which also runs John Dee (pax 488), which is a smaller venue located in the lower floors of the same building complex. Ståle Økland
Ståle Økland (born 21 April 1976) is a Norwegian writer, thinker, trend expert and public speaker. He grew up in Bryne, Leverkusen and Paris. He currently lives in Oslo, Norway. Personal life Ståle Økland's academic background is studies in sociology, history and German language. He started his career in the advertising industry as a copywriter with an advertising company in Stavanger, Norway. He shortly became a creative director in the agency, and later partner and managing director. In 2007 he founded a Norwegian trend agency called Domene Fem AS. VG-lista is a Norwegian record chart. It is presented weekly in the newspaper '' VG''. It is considered the primary Norwegian record chart, charting albums and singles from countries and continents around the world. The data are collected by Nielsen Soundscan International and are based on the sales in approximately 100 shops in Norway. The singles chart started as a top 10 chart in week 42 of 1958 and was expanded to a top 20 chart in week 5 of 1995, the same time the albums chart, which started as a top 20 chart in week 1 of 1967 was expanded to a top 40 chart.
