Osgoode Township High School
Osgoode Township High School is a high school in the Metcalfe community of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The school was founded in 1920 by the Carleton Board of Education in what was then Osgoode Township. Since 1944, the school has been under the jurisdiction of the Ottawa Carleton District School Board. In 1954, the school moved into its current location on 8th Line Road. The school's student body is drawn from the communities of Metcalfe, Greely, Osgoode, Carlsbad Springs, Vernon, Edwards, Kenmore, Manotick and the area surrounding these communities. In addition to the regular English Ontario school curriculum, Osgoode Township High School also offers cooperative education, composite studies, French immersion, and the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program. Despite its small student population, the school has successful athletic and music programs. Edwards is a dispersed rural community at the headwaters of Bear Brook in the Osgoode Ward of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Larry Robinson
Larry Clark Robinson (born June 2, 1951) is a Canadian former ice hockey coach, executive and player. His coaching career includes head coaching positions with the New Jersey Devils (which he held on two occasions), as well as the Los Angeles Kings. For his play in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Montreal Canadiens and Los Angeles Kings, Robinson was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1995. He was also inducted into the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame in 2014. In 2017, Robinson was named one of the " 100 Greatest NHL Players". Larry is the brother of Moe Robinson. French immersion is a form of bilingual education in which students who do not speak French as a first language will receive instruction in French. Osgoode Township
Osgoode Township is a former township that is now a part of the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The township along the Rideau River was established in 1798 and incorporated in 1850. It was an independent township in Carleton County until its amalgamation with the city in 2001. It remains a largely rural area with only some 23,285 inhabitants as of the 2016 census. As of the Canada 2021 Census, this had increased to 24,199. On Ottawa city council it is represented by George Darouze. Manotick ( ) is a community in Rideau-Jock Ward in the rural south part of the City of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Kenmore is a rural community in Osgoode Ward in the southeastern corner of the City of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Prior to amalgamation in 2001, it was located in Osgoode Township. It consists of two small residential neighbourhoods and farmland. Notable features include Kenmore Bicentennial Park, Kenmore Community Centre, and the Castor River, a tributary of the South Nation River.
