Oscar Moglia (born 1965)
Oscar Aldo Moglia Eiras (February 1, 1935 – October 8, 1989) was a basketball player from Uruguay. Club career During his sports club, club career, Moglia played with the Uruguayan team Club Atlético Welcome. He won five Uruguayan Federal Basketball Championship, Uruguayan Federal Championships (1953, 1956, 1957, 1966, 1967). He was the league's Campeonato Uruguayo Federal de Básquetbol#All-time leading scorers, second all-time highest scorer, after Fefo Ruiz, with 11,374 career total points scored. National team career With the senior Uruguayan national basketball team, Moglia was FIBA World Cup Top Scorer, the top scorer in points per game, of the 1954 FIBA World Championship, with a scoring average of 18.7 points per game. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. FIBA Hall Of Fame
The FIBA Hall of Fame, or FIBA Basketball Hall of Fame, honors players, coaches, teams, referees, and administrators who have greatly contributed to international competitive basketball. It was established by FIBA, in 1991. It includes the " Samaranch Library", the largest basketball library in the world, that as of 2007, had over 10,000 basketball books, and 950 magazines, from over 65 countries. The FIBA Hall of Fame building is a basketball museum built in Alcobendas, Community of Madrid, Spain, by the Pedro Ferrándiz Foundation. Initially, induction ceremonies occurred every two years, with the first one taking place in 2007. The pattern was interrupted in 2010, when a class was inducted on the day of the 2010 FIBA World Championship's Final in Istanbul. After that, no induction took place until 2013, with a class announced in May of that year, with induction taking place on 19 June.
