Osbyholm Castle
Osbyholm Castle ( sv, Osbyholms slott) is a castle at Hörby Municipality in Scania, Sweden. History Osbyholm Castle was built during the first half of the 17th century, probably during the time the estate was owned by Lene Ramel, daughter of Danish royal councilor Henrik Ramel (1601-1653), country commissioner of Scania. The estate was inherited by Ove Ramel (1637-1685). Following the Treaty of Roskilde in 1658, Scania became a possession of the Swedish Crown. Osbyholm Castle was sold to Olof Nilsson Engelholm fra Malmø. In 1750, an extensive restoration of Osbyholm were made. In 1853, a new central part was built, which was provided with a third floor with a flat, balustrade-edged roof. Hörby Municipality
Hörby Municipality (''Hörby kommun'') is a municipality in the central part of Skåne County in southern Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Hörby. The present municipality consists of ten original entities merged to each other in 1952, 1969 and 1974. Geography The geography is varied with a few forests, some lakes and streams and farmland and even wildlife. Horby is one of the most meadow-filled municipalities in Sweden. Ove Ramel
Ove Ramel (1637 – 29 January 1685) was a Danish landowner. Biography Ramel (also written Offue Rommel and Rammel) was the son of Privy Counsellor Henrik Ramel (1601–1653) and Margrethe Skeel (died 1671 or later). He attended Sorø Academy in 1653–1656 and then went abroad to continue his education enrolling at the University of Orléans in 1659. After Denmark's loss of Scania/Skåne to Sweden in 1660, Ramel was naturalized after swearing his loyalty to the Swedish king. Ramel married Mette Rosenkrantz (12 March 1646 – 25 January 1730), daughter of Erik Rosenkrantz of Rosenholm (1612–1681) and Margrethe Skeel ( 1626–1647). Treaty Of Roskilde
The Treaty of Roskilde (concluded on 26 February ( OS), or 8 March 1658) ( NS) during the Second Northern War between Frederick III of Denmark–Norway and Karl X Gustav of Sweden in the Danish city of Roskilde. After a devastating defeat, Denmark–Norway was forced to give up a third of its territory to save the rest, the ceded lands comprising Blekinge, Bornholm, Bohuslän (Båhuslen), Scania (Skåne) and Trøndelag, as well as her claims to Halland.
