Osakarovka
Osakarovka ( kk, Осакаровка; russian: Молодёжный) is a settlement in Sarybel District, Karaganda Region, Kazakhstan. It is the only populated center of the Osakarovka rural district (KATO code - 355630100). Osakarovka was established in 1908 by Ukrainian peasants. Karaganda Region
Karaganda Region ( kk, Qarağandy oblysy; russian: Карагандинская область, translit=Karagandinskaja oblast′), also spelled Qaraghandy Region, is a region of Kazakhstan. Its capital is Karaganda. On 17 March 2022 it was announced that Karaganda would be divided, with the formation of the Ulytau Region. This officially came into force on 8 June 2022. History The region was the site of intense coal mining during the days of the Soviet Union and also the site of several Gulag forced labor camps. Following World War II, Joseph Stalin, leader of the Soviet Union, had many ethnic Germans deported to the area. There have been constant border changes within the region's history. Sarybel District
Sarybel District ( kk, Сарыбел ауданы), formerly "Osakarov District", is a district of Karaganda Region in central Kazakhstan. The administrative center of the district is the settlement of Osakarovka. The district had a population of 31,243 as of 2019. Geography Nura District lies to the west. Karaganda or Qaraghandy ( kk, Қарағанды/Qarağandy, ; russian: Караганда, ) is the capital of Karaganda Region in the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is the List of most populous cities in Kazakhstan, fourth most populous city in Kazakhstan, behind Almaty (Alma-Ata), Astana and Shymkent. Irtysh–Karaganda Canal
The Irtysh–Karaganda Canal ( kz, Ертіс-Қарағанды каналы, ''Ertıs-Qarağandy kanaly''; russian: Канал Иртыш — Караганда) is an irrigation canal in Kazakhstan. It connects the Irtysh River with Karaganda (Qaraghandy), a major industrial center in north-central Kazakhstan. Astana
Astana, previously known as Akmolinsk, Tselinograd, Akmola, and most recently Nur-Sultan, is the capital city of Kazakhstan.
