Ortleralpen
The Ortler Alps ( it, Ortles-Cevedale ; german: Ortler-Alpen; rm, Alps da l'Ortler) are a mountain range of the Southern Limestone Alps mountain group in the Central Eastern Alps, in Italy and Switzerland. Geography The Ortler Alps are separated from: # the Sesvenna Alps in the north by the Ofen Pass and the Val Müstair # the Livigno Alps in the southwest by the Passo di Fraéle and the Adda valley (Valtellina) # the Adamello-Presanella Alps in the south by the Tonale Pass # the Ötztal Alps in the north-east by the upper Adige valley ( Vinschgau). The part west of the Gavia Pass is also called Sobretta-Gavia Group. The Ortler Alps are drained by the rivers Adda, Oglio, Adige and its tributary Noce. Großer Eiskogel
The Große Eiskogel ( it, Gran Coni di Ghiaccio) is a mountain in the Ortler Alps in South Tyrol, Italy, which rises to a height of (or according to other sources, 3549, 3544 or 3530 m). Location and surroundings The Große Eiskogel is the easternmost peak in the ''Kristallkamm'', a mountain range in the Ortler Alps that runs from the Stilfser Joch in the west to the Ortler Pass. It is located in the South Tyrol part of this mountain group near the border with Lombardy and is protected within the Stilfserjoch National Park. In the east its summit block drops to the Ortler Pass (), behind which Zebrù () and the Ortler () rise. Königspitze
The Königspitze (german: Königspitze; it, Gran Zebrù) is a mountain of the Ortler Alps on the border between South Tyrol and the Province of Sondrio (Lombardy), Italy. After the Ortler, it is the second highest peak in the Ortler Alps, at a height of 3,851m. The mountain was first climbed on August 3, 1854. The mountain can be dangerous in warm weather, when the snow and ice can become unstable. The worst day for climbing fatalities on the mountain occurred on August 5, 1997, when seven people were killed in two separate incidents. On June 23, 2013, six were killed, also in two separate incidents. In March, 2018, three skiers died in an avalanche.
