Orsolya is a Hungarian variant of Ursula meaning "little bear" or "bear cub", derived from a diminutive form of the Latin word ''ursa'' "she-bear". Saint Ursula was a legendary virgin princess of the 4th century who was martyred by the Huns while returning from a pilgrimage. Today the story of Saint Ursula is overwhelmingly considered to be fiction. In England the saint was popular during the Middle Ages, and the name came into general use at that time. Orsolya Dersffy
Baroness Orsolya Dersffy de Szerdahely (''Dersfy''; 1583 – 15 March 1619) was the first wife of the later Palatine Nikolaus, Count Esterházy. Family She was born in 1583 as the first daughter of Baron Ferenc Dersffy, who served as Master of the Cup-bearers and Vice-ispán (Viscount; ''vicecomes'') of Sáros County, and his second wife Orsolya Császár de Lanzér. She had a younger sister, Mária who married to Count Esterházy's brother Baron Gábor Esterházy in 1619. Baroness Orsolya married at first to Ferenc Mágóchy who functioned as Captain General of Kassa (today: ''Košice, Slovakia''). She already had a love affair with Esterházy, who served under Mágóchy, during her first marriage. Her husband died in 1611 and the couple were married one year later, on 22 November 1612 at Munkács (today: ''Mukachevo, Ukraine''). Orsolya Herr
Orsolya Herr (born 23 November 1984) is a former Hungarian handball goalkeeper. Career Club Started to play at the age of 12, she was first selected for her hometown club Tatabányai TSC. Two years later she was signed by Hungarian giants Győri ETO KC and got an excellent opportunity to train on one of the best academies in the country. She debuted in the Hungarian championship in 2001, but her playing minutes remained limited in the forthcoming years and she was eventually loaned to Budapest Kőbányai Spartacus SC for the 2003–2004 season. After her comeback she slowly established herself as a regular, and on 23 March 2005 she won her first cap for the national team as well, when Hungary hosted Slovakia. Orsolya Vérten (born 22 July 1982) is a Hungarian retired handballer who played for the Hungarian national team. She made her international debut in 2002 and participated in the European Championship in the same year, finishing fifth. She played in another three European Championships (2006, 2008, 2010). Vérten was also present at three World Championships between 2005 and 2009, achieving the best result on her first one, when Hungary captured the bronze medal.
