Orlando Theatre Project
The Orlando Theatre Project was a nonprofit professional theatre company based in Sanford, Florida, near Orlando. The company was founded in 1985 and operates under an Actors' Equity Association contract. The company was in residence at Seminole Community College and produced some of its plays with the college, enabling students to work with the company. The company also staged some of its shows at Orlando Repertory Theatre in Orlando's Loch Haven Park. Sanford, Florida
Sanford is a city in the central region of the U.S. state of Florida and the county seat of Seminole County. As of the 2020 census, its population was 61,051. The Actors' Equity Association (AEA), commonly referred to as Actors' Equity or simply Equity, is an American labor union representing those who work in live theatrical performance. Performers appearing in live stage productions without a book or through-storyline (vaudeville, cabarets, circuses) may be represented by the American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA). The AEA works to negotiate and provide performers and stage managers quality living conditions, livable wages, and benefits. Founded in 1965, the Florida State Legislature signed a charter creating "Seminole Junior College."
