Orlando Cornejo
Orlando Cornejo Bustamante (26 October 1929 – 20 April 2015) was the 37th Mayor of the commune of Pichilemu, office which he held between September 1992 and December 1996, representing the Union of the Centrist Center (UCC). He was the first mayor of Pichilemu to be elected following the Chilean transition to democracy. In 1996 and 2000, he ran again as a candidate in the municipal elections of these years, but failed to be elected in either. Early life Cornejo Bustamante was born on 26 October 1929 in the village of Cáhuil, Pichilemu, in current Cardenal Caro Province, Region of O'Higgins, Chile. His parents were Jermán Luis Cornejo Becerra and Ester Bustamante de Cornejo. He married María Soledad Cornejo Vargas (born 20 November 1963) in Rengo, Cachapoal Province, Region of O'Higgins, on 22 November 2007. Agustín Ross Park
Agustín Ross Park ( es, Parque Agustín Ross) is a park located in the Agustín Ross Avenue, in front of the old Ross Casino, in Pichilemu. It is a National Monument of Chile. The original park contains 100-year-old native Canary Island Date palms (''Phoenix canariensis ''Phoenix canariensis'', the Canary Island date palm or pineapple palm, is a species of flowering plant in the palm family Arecaceae, native to the Canary Islands off the coast of Morocco. It is a relative of ''Phoenix dactylifera'', the true dat ...'') and many green spaces. Both the park and the former casino were named National Monuments on February 25, 1988, and the majority of the houses situated in the park are private homes. Agustín Ross Hotel
The Hotel Ross is an old hotel in the Chilean city of Pichilemu. It was created by Agustín Ross Edwards in 1885, and remodeled in December 1987. The park is located on Agustín Ross Avenue, in front of the old Ross Casino. The hotel was originally named ''Great Hotel Pichilemu'' ( es, Gran Hotel Pichilemu). The once grand Ross Hotel was constructed at the same time. Although the hotel, one of the oldest in Chile, is still partially open to guests, it is in a high state of disrepair. Washington Ramón Saldías González (born August 24, 1949) is a Chilean politician. Saldías is also the executive editor of ''Pichilemu News''. Saldías was elected Councillor of Pichilemu with 870 votes (13.70%) from a total of 6,352 votes in Chilean municipal election of 1996. Biography Saldías was born in Santiago, Chile on August 24, 1949. His family moved to Pichilemu in 1950, and he stayed there until 1964. In 1975, Saldías was hired by ''La Tercera'' as Correspondent in Pichilemu for the newspaper. In 1979, he became Governor of the recently founded Cardenal Caro Province. Clay is a type of fine-grained natural soil material containing clay minerals (hydrous aluminium phyllosilicates, e.g. kaolin, Al2 Si2 O5( OH)4).
