Giovanni Orlandi was an Italian engraver and print publisher active at the end of the 16th century and the first half of the 17th century. A pupil of Cornelis Cort, Giovanni Orlandi was active in Rome and subsequently Naples between 1590 and 1640. He produced engravings predominantly after Michelangelo and Raphael. Ugo Orlandi (born in Brescia, 1958) is a musicologist, a specialist in the history of music, a university professor and internationally renowned mandolinist virtuoso. Among worldwide musicians, professional classical musicians are a small group; among them is an even smaller group of classical mandolinists. Among members of this group, Ugo Orlandi is considered "distinguished." Music historian Paul Sparks called him "a leading figure in the rehabilitation of the eighteenth-century mandolin repertoire, having recorded many concertos from this period." Stefano Orlandi (1681 – 29 July 1760) was an Italian painter, active mainly in Bologna in the architectural perspective painting. He is known for painting fanciful architectural canvases, known as Capricci. Biography He trained with his father, Odoardo Orlandi, a pupil of Lorenzo Pasinelli. Stefano first aspired to be a stucco artist, but then began learning from a mediocre local painter known as Antonio Rizzini. He then entered the studio of Pompeo Aldrovandini, who taught him quadratura, and with Pompeo, he went to Rome starting in 1713 where he completed scenography for the Teatro Capranica. He painted the church of Santi Giovanni e Petronio, working with the figure painter Giuseppe Gambarini. He was influenced by Giuseppe Bibiena. Rita Orlandi-Malaspina (28 December 1937 – 8 April 2017) was an Italian operatic soprano who had a major international career from the 1960s through the 1980s. She drew particular acclaim for her portrayals of Verdi heroines. She also had a successful career as a concert soprano, particularly in performance of Verdi's ''Requiem'' and Ludwig van Beethoven's '' Symphony No. 9''. Pellegrino Antonio Orlandi (1660–1727) was an Italian writer and art historian, author of the ''Abecedario pittorico'' (‘ABC of Painting’). Born in Bologna, Orlandi joined the city’s Carmelite convent of San Martino. Here he undertook research in art history and was made a member of the Accademia Clementina.. The first edition of his ''Abecedario pittorico'' was published in Bologna in 1704. Juan Pablo Orlandi (born 20 June 1983) is an Argentine former rugby union footballer who played at prop. He previously played for Racing Métro in France and Rovigo in Italy.
