Emanuela Orlandi (born 14 January 1968) was a Vatican teenager who mysteriously disappeared while returning home from a flute lesson in Rome on 22 June 1983. Sightings of Orlandi in various places have been reported over the years, including inside Vatican City, but all have been unreliable. The girl's disappearance led to much speculation on the involvement of international terrorism, Italian organized crime, the Banco Ambrosiano, and a plot inside the Holy See to cover up a sex scandal. Ugo Orlandi (born in Brescia, 1958) is a musicologist, a specialist in the history of music, a university professor and internationally renowned mandolinist virtuoso. Among worldwide musicians, professional classical musicians are a small group; among them is an even smaller group of classical mandolinists. Among members of this group, Ugo Orlandi is considered "distinguished." Music historian Paul Sparks called him "a leading figure in the rehabilitation of the eighteenth-century mandolin repertoire, having recorded many concertos from this period." Juan Pablo Orlandi (born 20 June 1983) is an Argentine former rugby union footballer who played at prop. He previously played for Racing Métro in France and Rovigo in Italy. Orlandi has also represented the Argentina national rugby union team. In February 2013, he signed for Bath Rugby for the 2013-14 season. However, on 5 January 2015, Orlandi signed with Newcastle Falcons with immediate effect from the 2014-15 season. On 6 Jan 2016 he was signed as a Medical Joker replacement to Pau in France. Carlo Orlandi (23 April 1910 – 29 July 1983) was an Italian boxer who won a gold medal at the 1928 Olympics. In 1929 Orlandi turned professional. During the 1930s Orlandi held both the Italian and European lightweight titles. He then won the Italian welterweight title in 1941 and retired in 1944. Orlandi was deaf. Elisa Orlandi (1811–1834) was an Italian opera singer who was active at major opera houses in Italy from 1829 until her sudden death in 1834. Possessing a wide vocal range with a significant amount of coloratura facility, she tackled roles from both the mezzo-soprano and soprano repertoires. She is best remembered today for portraying the role of Giovanna Seymour (Jane Seymour) in the world premiere of Gaetano Donizetti's '' Anna Bolena'' in 1830. Ferdinando Orlandi
Ferdinando Orlandi (7 October 1774 – 5 January 1848), also referred to as Orland and Orlando. Little is known of his early life and his year of birth is also cited as 1777. He was an Italian musician and teacher of singing who composed cantatas and sacred music (including four masses), but was particularly known for his operas, not all of which have survived. He was born and died in Parma. Life Orlandi studied music with Gaspare Rugarli, organist at the ducal chapel of Colorno, then in Parma with Gaspare Ghiretti and probably with Ferdinando Paer. Rita Orlandi-Malaspina (28 December 1937 – 8 April 2017) was an Italian operatic soprano who had a major international career from the 1960s through the 1980s. Felice Orlandi (18 September 1925 – 21 May 2003) was an Italian-born American actor, known for roles in films such as ''The Pusher (film), The Pusher'' (1960), ''Bullitt'' (1968), ''Catch-22 (film), Catch-22'' (1970) and ''The Driver'' (1978). Stefano Orlandi (1681 – 29 July 1760) was an Italian painter, active mainly in Bologna in the architectural perspective painting. He is known for painting fanciful architectural canvases, known as Capricci. Biography He trained with his father, Odoardo Orlandi, a pupil of Lorenzo Pasinelli. Stefano first aspired to be a stucco artist, but then began learning from a mediocre local painter known as Antonio Rizzini. He then entered the studio of Pompeo Aldrovandini, who taught him quadratura, and with Pompeo, he went to Rome starting in 1713 where he completed scenography for the Teatro Capranica. He painted the church of Santi Giovanni e Petronio, working with the figure painter Giuseppe Gambarini. He was influenced by Giuseppe Bibiena. After 32 months in Rome, and only 23 years old, he returns to Bologna, working with Gioseffo Orsoni in quadratura, also completing scenic designs for theaters in Lucca and Turin.
