Original Sin (INXS Album)
''Original Sin'' is the twelfth and final studio album by the Australian rock band INXS. It was released on physical media on 16 November 2010 by Epic Records, Atco Records and Polydor after having been released digitally on 28 October 2010. ''Original Sin'' features covers of their earlier songs, with each song featuring a guest singer. J.D. Fortune, who was the winner of the '' Rock Star: INXS'' competition and featured on the band's previous album ''Switch'', performed lead vocals for the 1990 track "The Stairs", being the last contribution from Fortune before his departure in 2011. Background Described as a tribute album by the band members, the record features new recordings of INXS songs. "We've re-invented these songs. INXS
INXS (a word play, phonetic play on "in excess") were an Australian Rock music, rock band, formed as The Farriss Brothers in 1977 in Sydney, New South Wales. The band's founding members were bassist Garry Gary Beers, main composer and keyboardist Andrew Farriss, drummer Jon Farriss, guitarist Tim Farriss, lead singer and main lyricist Michael Hutchence, and guitarist and saxophonist Kirk Pengilly. For 20 years, INXS was fronted by Hutchence, whose magnetic stage presence made him the focal point of the band. Loane is a French singer-songwriter. Biography Loane was born in Paris, France. Living with a musically-inclined family, she quickly became quite distinguished at the piano even performing pieces by Satie and Debussy. She refined her skills for a few years at a music conservatory. Aside from her musical pursuits, the young pianist also found interest in theater and literature. She also achieved a degree in Information and Communication. "Mystify" is a song by Australian rock band INXS and is the fifth (and last) single from their 1987 album ''Kick''. The song was written by Andrew Farriss and Michael Hutchence as part of the first sessions for ''Kick''. The song was first previewed to Australian audiences on the Australian Made tour in January 1987. B-sides The B-sides include remixes and LP versions of previous INXS songs, that following the trend of previous ''Kick'' releases, showcase the band's previous work. Daniel Leo Sultan (born 1983) is an Australian alternative rock singer-songwriter and guitarist, actor and author. "Beautiful Girl" a song by Australian rock band INXS, released as the fifth international single from their eighth album, ''Welcome to Wherever You Are'' (1992), on 1 February 1993. The song was written by Andrew Farriss, who was inspired to write it by the birth of his baby daughter. "Never Tear Us Apart" is a song by Australian rock band INXS, released in August 1988 as the fourth single from their sixth studio album, ''Kick''. Background and composition The music was written by keyboardist Andrew Farriss, who recorded a blues-style demo; vocalist Michael Hutchence wrote the lyrics. "Never Tear Us Apart" is a ballad, written in the tempo of a modern Viennese waltz, layered with synthesizers and containing dramatic pauses before the instrumental breaks. Kirk Pengilly lends a saxophone solo near the end. According to the liner notes of '' Shine Like It Does: The Anthology (1979–1997)'', the song was composed on piano as a bluesy number in the style of Fats Domino. Michael Hutchence
Michael Kelland John Hutchence (22 January 1960 – 22 November 1997) was an Australian musician, singer-songwriter and actor. Hutchence co-founded the rock band INXS, which sold over 75 million records worldwide and was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2001. He was the lead singer and lyricist of INXS from 1977 until his death. Hutchence was a member of the short-lived pop rock group Max Q (Australian band), Max Q.
