Oridathoru Puzhayundu
''Oridathoru Puzhayundu'' is a 2008 Malayalam environmental film directed by Kalavoor Ravikumar, written and screenplay by Jiju Asokan, starring K. B. Venu, Jenny (Meera Jasmine's sister), Jayasree Sivadas, Goutham Babu, Balachandran Chullikad etc. The film is based on a real-life incident and is dedicated to the people of Plachimada. The film won the Kerala Film Critics Association Awards for the Best film for children of 2007. Jayasree Sivadas won the Kerala State and Kerala Film Critics awards for the best child artist. Kalavoor Ravikumar is an Indian author, screenwriter and film director who mainly works in the Malayalam film and literature. Early life and family He joined Kerala Kaumudi daily after the studies and started his professional career as a journalist. Jiju Asokan
Jiju Asokan (born May 18, 1977) is an Indian film director and Scriptwriter best known for his work in Malayalam cinema. Personal life Jiju Asokan was born in Padiyur, Kerala with Asokan E.k and Valsala Asokan as his parents. Jiju Asokan completed his education at the SNVLP School, Padiyur and HDPHSS Edathirinji, and earned a degree from Christ College, Irinjalakuda and St. Theresa's kottakkal. Career Jiju Asokan started his writing career writing and publishing many short stories in Mathrubhumi "Balapangthi". The Plachimada Coca-Cola struggle was a series of protests to close the Coca-Cola factory in the village of Plachimada, Palakkad District, Kerala in the early 2000s. Villagers noted that soon after the factory opened, their wells started to run dry and the available water turned contaminated and toxic. Soon, waste from the factory was passed off to farmers in the area as fertiliser. The controversy became "one of the most studied corporate controversies" in recent times. Balachandran Chullikkad (born 30 July 1957) is an Indian poet, orator, lyricist and actor in Malayalam-language. Early life Balachandran was born in Paravur, Ernakulam, Kerala, India. Mayilamma
Mayilamma (10 August 1937 – 6 January 2007) was an Indian social activist whose claim to fame was the campaign against Coca-Cola Company in Plachimada in Palakkad, Kerala. She belonged to a native tribal community. She was the recipient of the Speak Out award by ''Outlook'' magazine and the Sthree Shakthi Award. She is also known as the 'Plachimada Heroine'.
