Hebrew Language
Hebrew (; ; ) is a Northwest Semitic language of the Afroasiatic language family. Historically, it is one of the spoken languages of the Israelites and their longest-surviving descendants, the Jews and Samaritans. It was largely preserved throughout history as the main liturgical language of Judaism (since the Second Temple period) and Samaritanism. Hebrew is the only Canaanite language still spoken today, and serves as the only truly successful example of a dead language that has been revived. Ori Kaplan
}, born October 1, 1969) is an Israeli jazz saxophonist and a music producer. He moved to the United States in 1991. He has worked with many artists including Shotnez Tom Abbs, Firewater, Gogol Bordello, and Balkan Beat Box (of which he is a founding member). He is also known as DJ Shotnez. Career The first band that Kaplan played for was DXM, an underground sampler-driven group in Tel Aviv. He chose playing for DXM instead of taking clarinet lessons. He stayed in Israel until 1991, which is when he immigrated to the United States. After getting a degree from Mannes College in 1996, Kaplan formed a group with Tom Abbs and Geoff Mann called "Trio Plus". The Trio became a quartet in 1997 when Steve Swell joined. Ori Yogev
Ori Yogev ( he, אורי יוגב; born November 3, 1960) is an Israeli businessman who served as the appointed head of the Budget Division in the Ministry of Finance between 2002 and 2004. Between 2009 and 2010, he served as Chairman of the Israel National Economic Council Advisory Committee. From 2013 to 2017 Yogev served as director of the Government Companies Authority. Ori Uzan ( he, אורי אוזן) (born 27 December 1978) is a former Israeli football player, and currently a football manager and broadcaster. Early life ''Uzan'' was born in Netanya, Israel, to a Tunisian Jewish family. Career He was born in Netanya, started playing in the youth department of Maccabi Netanya and played for several years in the club until he left to Maccabi Haifa at the end of the 2003–04 season. In his first season, he captured a place in the opening squad but at the second year he was loaned to Hapoel Petah Tikva where he played at the second half of 2005–06 season. Ori Sivan ( Hebrew: אורי סיון) (born July 30, 1963 in San Francisco, California) is an Israeli film and television director and screenwriter. In a career spanning over two decades, he covered feature films, TV drama, TV movies, and documentaries. Sivan and his work won 11 Israeli Film Academy Awards, as well as international film awards, across all the above fields of film making. Ori Reisman
Ori Reisman (1924–1991) was an Israeli painter. Biography Ori Reisman was born in Tel Yosef the in Mandatory Palestine. He studied art at the studio of Yitzhak Frenkel. In 1943, Reisman was one of the founders of Kibbutz Beit HaArava in the north of the Dead Sea. In 1946, he married Mazal Hamdi, whose Yemenite roots became an inspiration for his artwork. After the kibbutz was evacuated during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War, Reisman and his colleagues founded Kibbutz Kabri in the Western Galilee. Art career In the early 1950s, Reisman spent two years in Paris studying at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts and attending painter Jean Souverbie's Monumental Art workshop. Ori Orr ( he, אורי אור, born 22 April 1939) is an Israeli retired general and politician. During his service with the Israel Defense Forces, he headed the Central and Northern Commands. Afterward, he was elected to the Knesset twice for the Labor Party. He chaired the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee and was appointed Deputy Minister of Defence.
