The coeducational Organization of the Scout Movement of Kazakhstan ( kz, Скауттык Қoзғaлыс Ұіымы Қазақстан, ''Skawttık Qozğalıs Uiımı Qazaqstan''; russian: Организация Скаутского Движения Казахстана, ''Organizatsiya Skautskogo Dvizheniya Kazakhstana'') was officially founded in 1992, and received World Organization of the Scout Movement recognition on January 16, 2008. Kazakh Language
The Kazakh or simply Qazaq (Latin: or , Cyrillic: or , Arabic Script: or , , ) is a Turkic language of the Kipchak branch spoken in Central Asia by Kazakhs. It is closely related to Nogai, Kyrgyz and Karakalpak. It is the official language of Kazakhstan and a significant minority language in the Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang, north-western China and in the Bayan-Ölgii Province of western Mongolia. Jacques Moreillon
Jacques Moreillon (born 1939) served as Director General of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) until 1988 and as Secretary General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) from November 1, 1988 to March 31, 2004. Moreillon was born in Vevey, Switzerland. He studied at the University of Lausanne and obtained a doctorate in political science from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva. He became an ICRC delegate in 1965, and rose to the rank of Director General by 1988. In 1988 he became Secretary General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), a role he held until 2004. During this time the WOSM membership grew from 16 million members in 120 countries to 28 million members in 155 countries. The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM ) is the largest international Scouting organization. WOSM has 173 members. These members are recognized national Scout organizations, which collectively have around 43 million participants. WOSM was established in 1922, and has its operational headquarters at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and its legal seat in Geneva, Switzerland. It is the counterpart of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). Scouting In Turkmenistan
There is no formal Scouting organization yet in Turkmenistan, due to the Politics of Turkmenistan, political situation and because Turkmenistan refuses to join any organization because of its "status of Neutrality Arch, permanent neutrality," which was accepted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 12, 1995. The only widespread outreach activities for Turkmen children between ages 8-14 are 10 to 14 day Summer camp, camps that do not provide any educational components but organize some Culture of Turkmenistan, cultural events like concerts, poems and Competitive dance, dance competitions. Scouting In Kyrgyzstan
Scouting in Kyrgyzstan was founded in November 1994 and is not yet a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, but is working toward WOSM recognition. The Bund der Pfadfinderinnen und Pfadfinder (BdP) (German Association of Guides and Scouts) is the largest non-denominational, co-educational Scout and Guide association in Germany.
