Oregon Open
The Oregon Open is the Oregon state open golf tournament, open to both amateur and professional golfers. It is organized by the Pacific Northwest section of the PGA of America. The tournament was first played in 1905 and has been played annually (with minor disruptions) since 1925 at a variety of courses around the state. It was considered a PGA Tour event in the late 1920s and early 1930s. Oregon
Oregon () is a U.S. state, state in the Pacific Northwest region of the Western United States. The Columbia River delineates much of Oregon's northern boundary with Washington (state), Washington, while the Snake River delineates much of its eastern boundary with Idaho. The 42nd parallel north, 42° north parallel delineates the southern boundary with California and Nevada. Oregon has been home to many Indigenous peoples of the Americas, indigenous nations for thousands of years. The first European traders, explorers, and settlers began exploring what is now Oregon's Pacific coast in the early-mid 16th century. John McComish (born February 11, 1943) is an American politician and formerly a Republican member of the Arizona Senate representing District 18 from January 2013 to January 2015. McComish served multiple terms consecutively in the Arizona State Legislature from January 2005 until January 10, 2011, in the Arizona House of Representatives District 20 seat, then in the Arizona Senate in the District 20 seat from January 10, 2011, until January 14, 2013. Bill Tindall (golfer)
Howard Wilson "Bill" Tindall, Jr. (February 20, 1925 – November 20, 1995) was an American aerospace engineer, NASA engineer and manager. He was an early expert in orbital mechanics and coordinated mission techniques during the Apollo program. In the words of flight director Gene Kranz, Tindall "was pretty much the architect for all of the techniques that we used to go down to the surface of the Moon." Born in New York City in 1925, Tindall grew up in Scituate, Massachusetts and graduated from Scituate High School in 1943. He enlisted in the Navy and served on destroyers in the Pacific, where he became interested in engineering. Tindall earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Brown University in 1948. Bill Porter (golfer)
Bill G. Porter (born September 18, 1959) is an American professional golfer. Porter was born in Moses Lake, Washington. He played one year of college golf at the University of Oregon before turning professional in 1980. Porter worked as a club pro and played on mini-tours until earning his Ben Hogan Tour card (now Nationwide Tour) in the 1991 Q School. He played on the Nationwide Tour and PGA Tour from 1992 to 1996. On the Nationwide Tour (1992–94, 1996), he won once at the 1994 Nike Louisiana Open. On the PGA Tour (1995), his best finish was T-11 at the Deposit Guaranty Golf Classic. Jeff Coston
Jeff Coston (born October 15, 1955) is an American professional golfer. Biography Coston cites watching Jack Nicklaus tee off in the 1965 Greater Seattle Open Invitational at Inglewood Country Club as the moment he realized he wanted to dedicate his life to golf. He joined the PGA Tour in 1985. That year at the Buick Invitational Championship, a 14-year-old Phil Mickelson carried the scoreboard for the playing threesome of Coston, Steve Pate and Chris Perry. Coston played on the PGA Tour in 1985 and 1988. His best finish was a tied for seventh at the 1988 Anheuser-Busch Golf Classic. From 1991 to 1994, he played on the Ben Hogan/Nike Tour (now Nationwide Tour), winning once, at the 1991 Ben Hogan Shreveport Open.
