Orbit (William Orbit Album)
''Orbit'' is the first studio album by English musician William Orbit. While all of his later solo albums are predominantly instrumental, this album consists mostly of songs with lyrics, with vocals performed by Peta Nikolich. ''Orbit'' spawned two singles, "Feel Like Jumping" and "Love My Way" (a cover of the Psychedelic Furs' Love My Way); the music video for "Feel Like Jumping" was directed by Peter Christopherson. Orbit has described the album as "far from his best" and has suggested that listeners save their money for something else, unless they are "collecto-maniacs". "Love My Way" is a song by English band The Psychedelic Furs. It was released in July 1982 as the first single from their third studio album '' Forever Now''. Written by the four members of the group and produced by Todd Rundgren, who also played marimba on the song, the song reached the top 10 of the charts in New Zealand, top 30 in Australia and the top 50 in the United Kingdom and United States. Lyrics Front man of the group Richard Butler had a specific audience in mind when he penned the lyrics to this song. He explained this in an interview with ''Creem'' in 1983: "It's basically addressed to people who are fucked up about their sexuality, and says 'Don't worry about it.' Peter Christopherson
Peter Martin Christopherson (also known as Sleazy, 27 February 1955 – 25 November 2010) was an English musician, video director, commercial artist, designer and photographer, and former member of British design agency Hipgnosis. He also founded the Industrial Records band Throbbing Gristle (TG). After the disbandment of Throbbing Gristle, he participated in the formation of Psychic TV along with Genesis P-Orridge and Geoff Rushton—Rushton later changed his name to John Balance. After his short time in Psychic TV, Christopherson formed Coil with Balance, which lasted for just under 23 years, until Balance died of a fall in the Weston-super-Mare home he shared with Christopherson. Christopherson participated in the reunification of Throbbing Gristle and, after his relocation to Thailand in 2005, composed an album for his solo endeavour The Threshold HouseBoys Choir. My Oracle Lives Uptown is the tenth album by British electronic musician and record producer, William Orbit. It was released digitally on 4 May 2009 on Kobalt Digital, as a 12-track limited edition. It was released as a physical CD on 8 June 2009 with 16 tracks. The 16 track version was released as a Studio Master quality digital download and on deluxe Double 180g vinyl by Linn Records.
