My Oracle Lives Uptown
My Oracle Lives Uptown is the tenth album by British electronic musician and record producer, William Orbit. It was released digitally on 4 May 2009 on Kobalt Digital, as a 12-track limited edition. It was released as a physical CD on 8 June 2009 with 16 tracks. The 16 track version was released as a Studio Master quality digital download and on deluxe Double 180g vinyl by Linn Records. ''Hello Waveforms'' is the ninth album by British electronic musician and record producer, William Orbit. It was released in the UK on 20 February 2006. It is a mostly instrumental ambient record, with only four tracks containing vocals: "Spiral", featuring Kenna and the Sugababes, "They Live In The Sky", sung by Annette and Paulette Morris, and "Bubble Universe", which is based on a song previously recorded with Madonna called "Liquid Love", and has vocals by Laurie Mayer. Mayer also collaborates and co-writes other tracks of the record. All tracks are written by Orbit, either alone or in collaboration with Laurie Mayer and Rico Conning. ''Pieces in a Modern Style 2'' is the eleventh album by British electronic musician and record producer, William Orbit. A follow-up to Orbit's 1995 album ''Pieces in a Modern Style'', it was released on compact disc and digital download formats on 22 August 2010 through Decca Records. Linn Records is a Glasgow-based record label which specialises in classical music, jazz and Scottish music. It is part of Linn Products. History While Linn engineers were testing their flagship product, the Sondek LP12 turntable, they became frustrated with some of the specialist test LPs they were using. Laurie Mayer (composer)
Laurie Mayer (born 1961) is an American born composer and songwriter who has spent much of her musical career in the UK. She majored in both music and fine art at the University of California, Los Angeles before relocating to London. She was part of the group Torch Song. Career During the 1980s and 1990s she was part of the group Torch Song. The band released four albums: Wish Thing, Ecstasy, Exhibit A, and Toward the Unknown Region. Together they ran Guerilla Studios, with Rico Conning as the in-house sound engineer. Conning was also a member of The Lines, a UK post-punk band. She worked with Etienne Daho on his albums 'Pop Satori' and 'Pour nos vies martiennes'. During that time she released an EP, Bright Blue Night.
