Orange Show Speedway
Orange Show Speedway is a race track in San Bernardino, California. It is a quarter mile in length. Opened in 1947, it is said to be the longest continually running racetrack in the west coast of United States of America. The track hosts various stock car divisions including Late Models, Street Stock, Mini Stock, Figure 8, Open Comp, Bandolero, Barber Pole, Skid Plate, and Legends. The track hosted 10 races of NASCAR Winston West Series between 1963 and 1978. Then after 37 years absence, the series returned to Orange Show Speedway in 2016 and ran 3 races between 2016 and 2018. ''The San Bernardino Sun'' is a paid daily newspaper in San Bernardino County. NASCAR Winston West Series
The ARCA Menards Series West, formerly the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, NASCAR AutoZone West Series, NASCAR Winston West Series and NASCAR Camping World West Series, is a regional stock car racing series owned and operated by the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) and the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). The series was first formed in 1954 as a proving ground for drivers from the western United States who could not travel to race in the more traditional stock car racing regions like North Carolina and the rest of the southern United States. The NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Southwest Series (originally NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Tour) was a late model stock car racing series sanctioned by NASCAR that was held in the Southwestern United States. The original NASCAR Southwest Tour began in 1985 and ran until NASCAR discontinued the Elite Division in 2006. The cars feature a perimeter frame chassis where rails of equal lengths must kick out, compared to the more modern offset chassis where one side is straight and one side kicks out. They weigh 2,900 pounds and have a fiberglass body.
