Optare Toro
The Ferqui Toro and Ferqui Viedo (sold as the Optare Toro and Optare Viedo in the United Kingdom until 2012) were related designs of minicoach bodywork built by Spanish manufacturer Ferqui until 2014, when they were replaced by the Ferqui Sunset X and Ferqui Sunrise. The Toro, built on Mercedes-Benz Vario chassis, was launched in 2005; the Viedo, a lower-cost variant built on Iveco Daily chassis, followed in 2009. Through a dealership arrangement between Ferqui and Optare, both models were sold and badged as Optare products in the British market from their launch up until the start of 2012, when Optare terminated the agreement to consolidate on their own bus manufacturing. Subsequently, Ferqui signed a dealership contract with Connaught PSV, relaunching both models in the United Kingdom market as Ferqui-badged models by 2013, before they went out of production the following year. A minibus, microbus, minicoach, or commuter (in Zimbabwe) is a passenger-carrying motor vehicle that is designed to carry more people than a multi-purpose vehicle or minivan, but fewer people than a full-size bus. In the United Kingdom, the word "minibus" is used to describe any full-sized passenger-carrying van or panel truck. Minibuses have a seating capacity of between 12 and 30 seats. Larger minibusses may be called midibuses. Minibuses are typically front engine step in vehicles, although low floor minibuses do exist and are particularly common in Japan. High-floor
High-floor describes the interior flooring of commuter vehicles primarily used in public transport such as trains, light rail cars and other rail vehicles, along with buses and trolleybuses. Interior floor height is generally measured above the street surface or above the top of the rail. High-floor designs usually result from packaging requirements: mechanical items such as axles, motors, crankshafts, and/or transmissions, or luggage storage spaces are traditionally placed under the interior floor of these vehicles. Mercedes-Benz Vario
The Mercedes-Benz Vario (model designation BM667/668/670) is a full-size commercial heavy van manufactured by Mercedes-Benz between 1996 and 2013. History The Vario was launched in 1996 as a facelifted version of the Mercedes-Benz T2. The bodyshell remained relatively unchanged throughout its 17-year production life. The Vario proved a popular base chassis for minibuses and mini-coaches. When new regulations required disabled access, a model with a wheelchair lift was made available. The Iveco Daily is a large light commercial vehicle, light commercial van produced by the Italy, Italian automaker Iveco since 1978; it was also sold as the Fiat Daily by Fiat Automobiles, Fiat until 1983.
