Ophidia
__FORCETOC__ Ophidia (also known as Pan-Serpentes) is a group of squamate reptiles including modern snakes and reptiles more closely related to snakes than to other living groups of lizards. Ophidia was defined as the "most recent common ancestor of ''Pachyrhachis'' and Serpentes (modern snakes), and all its descendants" by Lee and Caldwell (1998: 1551). The latter author has used Ophidia in a manner inconsistent with this definition, using it to incorporate other more basal stem-snakes, such as the Late Cretaceous ''Najash rioegrina'' or the Jurassic ''Diablophis'' and ''Portugalophis''. The clade name Ophidia derives from the Ancient Greek word (), meaning "small snake". Evolution Modern snakes are thought to have evolved from either burrowing or aquatic lizards during the mid-Cretaceous period, and the earliest known fossils date to around 112 Ma ago. However, the relationship between modern snake and more primitive snake ancestors, many of which retained hind limbs, is ...

Ophidian (wrestler)
Ophidian is a retired professional wrestler best known for performing with Chikara. He was previously a member of The Osirian Portal stable along with his former partners Amasis and Hieracon. His gimmick is an anthropomorphic Egyptian cobra, which is reflected in his in-ring gear and cobra head mask as well as his mannerisms and speech. Ophidian served as an assistant trainer at The Wrestle Factory, operated by Chikara founder Mike Quackenbush before they both resigned after misconduct allegations against CHIKARA as part of the #SpeakingOut movement. Professional wrestling career Ophidian trained at the Chikara Wrestle Factory wrestling school. Upon graduation he began teaming with Amasis and the pair adopted their gimmick and their masks to become The Osirian Portal, a team inspired by ancient Egyptian culture. Ophidian became an anthropomorphic King Cobra while Amasis became a break dancing pharaoh. Part of their gimmick involved hypnosis, wherein Amasis would hold Ophidi ...

Ophidian (Dungeons & Dragons)
This is the list of ''Advanced Dungeons & Dragons'' 2nd edition monsters, an important element of that role-playing game. This list only includes monsters from official ''Advanced Dungeons & Dragons'' 2nd Edition supplements published by TSR, Inc. or Wizards of the Coast, not licensed or unlicensed third-party products such as video games or unlicensed ''Advanced Dungeons & Dragons'' 2nd Edition manuals. __TOC__ Monsters in the 2nd edition ''Advanced Dungeons & Dragons'' The second edition of the ''Advanced Dungeons & Dragons'' game featured both a higher number of books of monsters and more extensive monster descriptions than both earlier and later editions, with usually one page in length. Next to a description, monster entries in this edition contained standardized sections covering combat, their habit and society, and their role in the eco-system. While later editions gave the various creatures all the attributes which player characters had, 2nd edition only listed intelli ...

Ophidian 2350
Released in 2003, ''Ophidian: 2350'' is a collectible card game (CCG) created by Ophidian Games and Fleer. It uses a play structure called ''the Flow'' rather than the normal turn-based system typically used in the genre. Game Lore ''Ophidian 2350'' takes place in the year 2350, where a strange reptilian race known as Ophidians run gladatorial arenas for humans, aliens and demons alike. Combat consists of one team pitted against another, and though competitors often die, the gladiators' DNA is often taken before the match to resurrect the fallen warrior. Gameplay Each player's team is made up of up to four gladiators, usually one of each victory point (VP) level (ranging from 1 to 4), but a team can technically be made up of any combination that adds up to exactly 10. A player can win either by defeating an opponent's gladiators, by defeating gladiators worth a greater number of victory points after four ''Waves'' (rounds) or by amassing 15 points worth of ''cheer'' from the ...
