Operário Ferroviário Esporte Clube, more commonly referred to as Operário Ferroviário, Operário de Ponta Grossa or simply Operário-PR, is a Brazilian professional association football club in Ponta Grossa, Paraná which currently plays in Série B, the second tier of Brazilian football, as well as in the Campeonato Paranaense, the top division of the Paraná state football league. They competed in Série A once. History The team was founded on 1 May 1912, thus being the second oldest club in the state of Paraná. The club won the Southern Zone Campeonato Paranaense Second Level in 1969. Operário competed in the Série A in 1979 and in the Série B in 1980, 1989, 1990, 1991, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2024 and 2025. Stadium They play their home games at the Germano Krüger stadium. Owned by Operário Ferroviário Esporte Clube, Operário Ferroviário, it is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches. The stadium has a capacity of 10,632 people. Diogo Mateus de Almeida Maciel (born February 13, 1993) is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a right back for Guarani. Career Diogo Mateus came through the youth ranks with Internacional. During the 2012–13 seasons, whilst with the Under-23 side, he had a loan spell with Porto B, making his senior debut on 18 August 2012 against União Madeira. He stayed in Portugal with Portimonense, signing a loan deal for the 2013–14 season, however this was not a success, and he played in only one game before returning to Brazil prematurely in December. The 2017 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D, the fourth level of the Brazilian League, was contested by 68 clubs. The competition started on 21 May and ended on 10 September 2017. Atlético Acreano, Globo, Juazeirense and Operário Ferroviário qualified for the semi-finals and were promoted to the 2018 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C. Operário Ferroviário won the title after defeating Globo in the final. Competition format In the first stage, 68 teams were divided into seventeen groups of four, organized regionally. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D), commonly known as the Série D or the Brazilian Série D to distinguish it from the Italian Serie D, is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on 9 April 2008. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin as does the top three divisions. The Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs recognized by the state federation.
