Opale () is a small settlement in the hills southeast of Žiri in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. The Upper Carniola Statistical Region ( sl, Gorenjska statistična regija) is a statistical region in northwest Slovenia. It is a region with high mountains, including Mount Triglav, and is almost entirely Alpine. A large part of this statistical region is protected as a national park.
