''Where Did the Night Fall'' is the fourth studio album from British electronic music act Unkle, released on . Background As a documentation of the work on the album, on 13 April 2009, James Lavelle, Unkle's mastermind, started an official "UNKLE Blog". According to the first post, Lavelle started to work in studio in January 2009 with Pablo Clements, James Griffith, Joel Cadbury, Gavin Clark, Matt Pierce and Mike Lowry. Promotion On a single, " Heavy Drug (Surrender Sounds Mix)", was made available digitally via Beatport and iTunes. On the download was followed by a remix EP with remixes by King Unique, Steve Mac and Future Beat Alliance. On a song, "Natural Selection", appeared as a streaming on ''Spin'' magazine's website, and was later made available to download as a 320 kbit/s MP3 file, via UNKLE's official website. Gavin Clark
Gavin Clark (25 January 1969 – 16 February 2015) was an English singer-songwriter and musician. He was a member of groups including Sunhouse, Clayhill and UNKLE. Clark was a long term friend of director Shane Meadows, they met in 1989 at a Manchester house party when working at Alton Towers amusement park. Meadows asked Clark to score his debut feature ''Small Time'' in 1996 with film producer and drummer Dominic Dillon. Clark's work subsequently appeared in each of Meadow's films. Actor Paddy Considine, another friend of Meadows, was briefly in a band with Clark. Clark and Dillon went on to form the group Sunhouse with guitarist Paul Bacon and bassist Rob Brooks. Sunhouse released one album, the critically acclaimed '' Crazy on the Weekend'' in 1998 but split in 1999. Clark then went on to form the band Clayhill in 2003 with guitarist Ted Barnes and bassist Ali Friend. They released a number of EPs and three albums before splitting in 2007. Ian Astbury
Ian Robert Astbury (born 14 May 1962) is an English singer, best known as a founding member, lead vocalist and frontman of the rock band the Cult. During various hiatuses from the Cult, Astbury has fronted the short-lived Holy Barbarians in 1996, and later from 2002 to 2007 served as the lead singer of Riders on the Storm, a Doors tribute band that also featured Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger from the original Doors. He replaced Rob Tyner during an MC5 reunion in 2003, as well as appearing on several one-off guest vocal performances on other artist's songs. Early life Ian Astbury was born in Heswall, Cheshire, and is of Scottish and English descent. He moved with his family to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, from England in 1973 when he was 11. He attended Glendale Secondary School. Astbury's early musical influences took root in Hamilton, where he became a fan of David Bowie, Iggy Pop and The New York Dolls.
