Oni (band)
Oni is a progressive metal band formed in Canada by singer Jake Oni. Jake Oni is a resident of the Cayman Islands, and runs the Cayman-based music company Ironshore Group. History ONI formed in 2014. They released their debut album, ''Ironshore'', in 2016, on Black Light Media Records and Metal Blade Records. Longtime Lamb of God producer Josh Wilbur produced and mixed the album and the song "The Only Cure" featured Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe. Wilbur produced Oni's ''Alone'' EP, released by Blacklight Media/Metal Blade in 2019. The same year, Jake Oni contributed guest vocals to Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton's solo album, ''Anesthetic''. He appeared on the song "The Never," alongside Chuck Billy, David Ellefson, and Roy Mayorga, and is credited as cowriter on "Cross Off," featuring late Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington. Jared Dines
Jared Dines (born October 6, 1989) is an American YouTuber and musician who is known for metalcore-themed and adjacent videos, covers, parodies, and his own original music. Career Dines worked as a recording engineer before pursuing YouTube full time. He started his YouTube channel to promote his band, They Charge Like Warriors, in 2011. Dines later gained popularity from his metal covers of pop songs. His following grew as he collaborated with other artists such as Rob Scallon. In 2015, Dines co-founded the band Rest, Repose with Ryan "Fluff" Bruce. He left the project in 2019 to focus on his group Daddy Rock. Dines was also a member of metalcore band Dissimulator. Dines, in competition with Steve Terreberry, became known for playing guitars with an unusual amount of strings. Spiritbox
Spiritbox is a Canadian heavy metal band from Victoria, British Columbia. Husband and wife duo guitarist Mike Stringer and vocalist Courtney LaPlante established Spiritbox in 2017. The band's full lineup comprises LaPlante, Stringer and drummer Zev Rose; former As I Lay Dying bassist Josh Gilbert currently performs live with the band. The band's metal style is difficult to pigeonhole into a specific metal music genre and displays an array of styles that draw from a variety of influences and incorporate electronic elements. Dissatisfaction caused LaPlante and Stringer to leave their former band, Iwrestledabearonce, and they started Spiritbox, seeking artistic freedom. Josh Gilbert (musician)
Josh Gilbert (born March 17, 1981) is an American bassist, vocalist, songwriter and producer, who performs primarily metalcore. He has played with several acts, including As I Lay Dying and Wovenwar. He is also a contributor to ''Alternative Press''. He currently plays bass as a touring member of Spiritbox. Career Gilbert's musical career began with his first band Mothra in Birmingham, Alabama. Shortly after, they changed their name to This Endearing, and sent a demo to Tim Lambesis, frontman of As I Lay Dying. This Endearing disbanded in 2006 and Gilbert went on to join As I Lay Dying. Light the Torch (formerly Devil You Know) is an American metalcore supergroup formed in Los Angeles in 2012. They are currently signed to Nuclear Blast Records and have released four albums: two under the "Devil You Know" moniker ('' The Beauty of Destruction'' and '' They Bleed Red'') and two under the "Light the Torch" name (''Revival'' and ''You Will Be the Death of Me''). Howard Jones (born July 20, 1970) is an American metalcore vocalist best known as the former lead singer of Killswitch Engage and Blood Has Been Shed. He is the current vocalist of Light the Torch, formerly known as Devil You Know, and SION with YouTuber/guitarist Jared Dines. Career Jones started making music in the underground band Driven in 1996, releasing a single album. He later performed with Blood Has Been Shed from 1997 to 2004. Death Angel
Death Angel is an American thrash metal band from Daly City, California, initially active from 1982 to 1991 and again since 2001. Death Angel has released nine studio albums, two demo tapes, one box set and three live albums.
