Jambinai
Jambinai () are a Korean avant-rock band formed in Seoul in 2009. Their debut album ''Différance'' won the award for Best Crossover Album at the 2013 Korean Music Awards. Their second album ''Hermitage'' was released in 2016 on Bella Union. During the 2018 Winter Olympics closing ceremony in Pyeongchang, Jambinai performed with an orchestra of geomungo players. Musical style Jambinai are known for combining rock music instrumentation (drums, bass guitar, electric guitar) with the use of traditional Korean folk music instruments ( haegeum, piri, geomungo). Furthermore, they have been compared to bands like Explosions in the Sky, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and Mogwai. Post-rock
Post-rock is a form of experimental rock characterized by a focus on exploring textures and timbre over traditional rock song structures, chords, or riffs. Post-rock artists are often instrumental, typically combining rock instrumentation with electronics. The genre emerged within the indie and underground music scene of the 1980s and early 1990s. However, due to its abandonment of rock conventions, it often bears little resemblance musically to contemporary indie rock, borrowing instead from diverse sources including ambient, electronica, jazz, krautrock, dub, and minimalist classical. Artists such as Talk Talk and Slint have been credited with producing foundational works in the style in the early 1990s. Bella Union
Bella Union is a British independent record label founded in 1997 by Simon Raymonde and Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins. It is now run solely by Raymonde. History After releasing records with 4AD for a large part of their career, Cocteau Twins decided to start up the Bella Union record label in 1997, through which they could release their own work as well as any collaborative efforts. The band split up not long after, but instead of letting the newly formed label go under, Robin Guthrie, Simon Raymonde and their former manager Fiona Glyn-Jones decided to take charge of it. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. Metacritic's scoring converts each review into a percentage, either mathematically from the mark given, or what the site decides subjectively from a qualitative review.
