Once (Pearl Jam Song)
"Once" is a song by the American rock band Pearl Jam. Featuring lyrics written by vocalist Eddie Vedder and music written by guitarist Stone Gossard, "Once" is the first track on the band's debut album, '' Ten'' (1991). On ''Ten'', it is preceded by a brief interlude of the album's closing hidden track, "Master/Slave". Besides ''Ten'', the song was also featured as a B-side on the single for "Alive". Remixed versions of the song were included on Pearl Jam's 2004 greatest hits album, ''Rearviewmirror (Greatest Hits 1991–2003)'', and the 2009 ''Ten'' reissue. The song is one of the band's heaviest compositions to date. Origin and recording "Once" features lyrics written by vocalist Eddie Vedder and music written by guitarist Stone Gossard. Once railway station ( es, Estación Once de Septiembre, translation=Eleventh of September Station, ; informally known as ) is a large railway terminus in central Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the ''barrio'' of Balvanera. The station, inaugurated on 20 December 1882, is located in the barrio of Balvanera, immediately north of Plaza Miserere, a large public square. ''Once'' is a musical based on the 2007 film of the same name by John Carney. Like the film, music and lyrics were by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, including the Academy Award-winning "Falling Slowly". The book for the musical was written by Enda Walsh. The musical premiered at the New York Theatre Workshop in 2011, before transferring to Broadway in 2012. The production received eleven 2012 Tony Award nominations, and won eight including Best Musical, Best Actor and Best Book.
