Omar Sampedro
Omar Sampedro Bernardo (born 5 June 1985) is a Spanish footballer who plays for Spanish club UD Llanera as a forward. Club career Sampedro was born in Avilés, Asturias. After finishing his graduation in neighbouring Sporting de Gijón's youth setup he made his senior debuts with the B-team in the 2004–05 season, in the Tercera División. On 24 October 2004 he played his first game as a professional, featuring the entire second half in a 3–1 home win over Córdoba CF in the Segunda División, and his first goal came on 28 November as he scored the first in a 2–1 success at Pontevedra CF. After a loan spell with lowly Zamora CF Sampedro returned to Sporting, being promoted to La Liga in 2008 and making his debut in the competition on 26 October 2008 by coming on as a late substitute in a 3–0 away win over Deportivo de La Coruña. Avilés
Avilés (; ) is a town in Asturias, Spain. Avilés is, along with Oviedo and Gijón, one of the main cities in the Principality of Asturias. The town occupies the flattest land in the municipality, partially in a land that belonged to the sea, surrounded by small promontories, all of them having an altitude of less than 140 metres. Substitute (association Football)
In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. Prior to this most games were played with no changes permitted at all, with occasional exceptions in cases of extreme injury or players not arriving to matches on time. 2007–08 Segunda División
The 2007–08 season was the 77th in the history of the Segunda División (known as the Liga BBVA for sponsorship reasons), the second tier of the Spanish football league system. The first matches of the season were played on 25 August 2007, and the season ended on 15 June 2008. Celta de Vigo, Real Sociedad, and Gimnàstic de Tarragona were the teams which were relegated from La Liga the previous season. Racing de Ferrol, Eibar, Sevilla Atlético, and Córdoba were the teams which were promoted from Segunda División B the previous season.
