Aolinpike Gongyuan (Olympic Park) station () is an interchange station on Line 8 and Line 15 of the Beijing Subway. The station was named Olympic Green. It was renamed on December 31, 2021, to use Pinyin, though the English translation are still displayed in brackets underneath. Location It is located in Chaoyang District, Beijing. Outside the station is Olympic Green. The Olympic Green was built for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Station layout Both the line 8 and line 15 stations have underground island platforms. The Olympic Green () is an Olympic Park in Chaoyang District, Beijing, China constructed for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Since then, the streets around the park have been used for an exhibition street race of the FIA GT1 World Championship in 2011, after a race at Goldenport Park Circuit in the vicinity. It again served as an Olympic Park when Beijing hosted the 2022 Winter Olympics. Venues Beijing National Stadium The Beijing National Stadium () or "Bird's Nest" () is the centerpiece of this project. Island Platforms
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. Line 15 of the Beijing Subway () is a rapid transit rail line in northern Beijing. The line has a total length of across northern Beijing from Qinghuadongluxikou in Haidian District in the west, to Fengbo in Shunyi District in the east. The line uses Sparcs CBTC system supplied by Nippon Signal. It cost ¥17.6 billion. The line features 6-car trains similar to other lines in the Beijing Subway.
