Olle Karlsson
Olle Karlsson (born 9 April 1969) is a Swedish professional golfer and European Tour player. In 1998, he won the Open Novotel Perrier (with Jarmo Sandelin) and was runner-up at the English Open. Amateur career Karlsson lost the final of the 1987 Spanish International Amateur Championship to Michael Quirke of Ireland. In 1988 he appeared in the PLM Open, a European Tour event held at Flommen Golf Club, where he made the cut and tied for 19th. Professional career Karlsson turned professional in 1989 and joined the Swedish Golf Tour and the Challenge Tour, where he won the 1993 Ramlösa Open. Playing on the Asia Golf Circuit, he tied for 3rd at the Philippine Open in 1992. Between 1993 and 2002 Karlsson played over 200 events on the European Tour, finishing top-10 fifteen times, despite being plagued for years by injuries sustained in a serious car accident in February 1994. Falkenberg
Falkenberg is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality and the seat of Falkenberg Municipality, Halland County, Sweden, with 27,813 inhabitants in 2019 (out of a municipal total of about 45,000). Lee Westwood
Lee John Westwood (born 24 April 1973) is an English professional golfer. Noted for his consistency, Westwood is one of the few golfers who has won tournaments on five continents – Europe, North America, Asia, Africa and Oceania – including victories on the European Tour and the PGA Tour. Swedish PGA Championship
The Swedish PGA Championship for men is a golf tournament played annually in Sweden since 1970. It has been an event on the Swedish Golf Tour schedule since 1984 and the Nordic Golf League since 1999. History From its beginning in 1970, it was a championship for members of the PGA of Sweden. Since 1986, the tournament has been open to foreign players. The tournament was part of the Challenge Tour from 1990 to 1996 and from 2001 to 2005. Official World Golf Ranking
The Official World Golf Ranking is a system for rating the performance level of professional golfers. It was started in 1986. The rankings are based on a player's position in individual tournaments (i.e. not pairs or team events) over a "rolling" two-year period. New rankings are calculated each week. During 2018, nearly 400 tournaments on 20 tours were covered by the ranking system. All players competing in these tournaments are included in the rankings. In 2022, 23 tours factored into the world rankings. As well as being of general interest, the rankings have an additional importance, in that they are used as one of the qualifying criteria for entry into a number of leading tournaments. The Belfry
The Belfry is a golf resort and hotel in Wishaw, Warwickshire, close to Sutton Coldfield, England, located approximately 8 miles from the centre of Birmingham. It was acquired by KSL Capital Partners in August 2012. The resort has three golf courses. The Brabazon Course is the main tournament course, and the others are the PGA National and The Derby. The headquarters of The Professional Golfers' Association are also located there, along with a 4-star hotel, tennis courts and a leisure spa. The Belfry has hosted the Ryder Cup on four occasions and has staged numerous European Tour events. In 2013, The Belfry underwent a comprehensive £26 million renovation of all bedrooms, meeting rooms, public spaces and other amenities. It was founded in 1971 and for its first five years it was called the Benson & Hedges Festival of Golf. It was sponsored by Benson & Hedges, a cigarette company. The Betfred British Masters is a professional golf tournament. It was founded in 1946 as the Dunlop Masters and was held every year up to 2008, except for 1984. Dunlop's sponsorship ended in 1982, and the name sponsor changed frequently thereafter, with the words "British Masters" usually also in the tournament's official name. The tournament was not held from 2009 to 2014 but returned to the schedule in 2015. The Old Course at St Andrews, also known as the Old Lady or the Grand Old Lady, is considered the oldest golf course.
