Olivier Deschacht
Olivier Deschacht (born 16 February 1981) is a Belgian professional football coach and a former player who played as a left-back or centre-back. He is an assistant coach for the Belgium national under-21 football team. Career Early career At the age of 7, Deschacht began playing for S.K. Begonia Lochristi before he moved to K.A.A. Gent in 1991. He then spent two years (1995–1997) at K.S.C. Lokeren Oost-Vlaanderen. Anderlecht In 1997 he signed for R.S.C. Anderlecht to play in their academy. He made his first team debut on 18 December 2001 under the coaching of Aimé Anthuenis. For the 2007 season, Deschacht was awarded the captain's armband replacing teammate Bart Goor during Goor's injuries. After Goor's move to Germinal Beerschot, he was awarded captaincy full-time in 2008. 2004–05 Belgian First Division
The 2004-05 season of the Belgian First Division began on August 6, 2004 and ended on May 23, 2005. Club Brugge became champions on May 15, 2005 after a decisive game against long-time rivals Anderlecht. The season was full of suspense as the champions and the relegated teams were only known on the 33rd (on 34) matchday. The 2008–09 season of the Belgian First Division (also known as ''Jupiler Pro League'' due to sponsorship reasons) was the 106th season of top-tier football in Belgium. The regular season began on 16 August 2008 and ended on 16 May 2009. Standard Liège were the defending champions. On 19 April 2009, Mons were relegated after Dender beat Roeselare 3–1 and made it mathematically impossible for Mons to climb into 16th position or higher. 2007–08 Belgian First Division
The 2007–08 season of the Belgian First Division began on August 3, 2007 and concluded on May 10, 2008. The championship was decided in the 31st round on April 20, 2008, when Standard Liège beat Anderlecht 2–0 at home. For Standard it was their 9th League Championship, but just their first in the last 25 years. At the other end of the table, Brussels and Sint-Truiden were relegated on matchdays 31 and 32 respectively.
