Olimpijski Bazen Otoka
Olimpijski Bazen Otoka is an indoor water arena in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located in the Novi Grad, Sarajevo, Novi Grad district. Construction was finished in 2008, making it the first olympic sized swimming pool in Sarajevo. Construction started in 2005. The main pool has a dimension of 50 times 25 meters, with a depth of 2.2 meters. There are 10 lanes. There is an additional smaller pool in this building. The main pool is in regulations with FINA requirements. The construction cost was 15.5 million Bosnia and Herzegovina convertible mark, convertible marks, 11.5 came from city Sarajevo, 3.5 from Canton Sarajevo, and 1 million came from the BH Government. VK Bosna
VK Bosna is a waterpolo club from Sarajevo, Bosnia. It was formed in 1984 and is the strongest waterpolo team in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Waterpolo League, which comprises five teams total. The club is part of the University Sport Society USD Bosna ( bs, Univerzitetsko Sportsko Društvo Bosna). History Waterpolo in Sarajevo was not a major sport for some time. It mainly developed after World War II, but it ceased in 1967. In the mid 1980s plans developed to form such a club, and what became VK Bosna was organized in 1984. In late 1980s amid financial crisis in the former Yugoslavia, the club ceased to exist. In 2008 the club was re-established, and is the dominant such club in the country. Novi Grad ( sr-cyrl, Нови Град, ; lit. "New Town") is a municipality of the city of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is the westernmost of the four municipalities that make up the city of Sarajevo. The municipality also consists of the villages Bojnik and Rečica.
