Oli Goldsmith
Oli Goldsmith (born in Toronto) is a Canadian artist whose best known work is for rock-band Our Lady Peace's 2000 album ''Spiritual Machines''. Goldsmith currently lives and works with his wife Caroline Bacher, who works as an artist, sculptor and jeweller. Career Goldsmith designed the original packaging for ''Spiritual Machines'', as well as directing and animating the award-winning music video for the song ''In Repair'' from the album. The album packaging was nominated for a Juno Award for Best Album Artwork, while the video was nominated for Best Music Video. At the MuchMusic Video Awards, the video was nominated in six categories; winning awards for Best Post-production, Best Director and Best Video. Oli defines his work as Pop Surrealism, yet has distinct views on the definition of the movement, clearly separating it from Lowbrow Art. Artist
An artist is a person engaged in an activity related to creating art, practicing the arts, or demonstrating an art. Our Lady Peace
Our Lady Peace (sometimes shortened to OLP) is a Canadian rock band formed in Toronto, Ontario in 1992. Led by lead vocalist Raine Maida since its formation, the band currently also features Duncan Coutts on bass, Steve Mazur on guitars, and Jason Pierce on drums. The band has sold several million albums worldwide, won four Juno Awards, and won ten MuchMusic Video Awards—the most MMVAs ever awarded to a band (tied with Billy Talent). Spiritual Machines
''Spiritual Machines'' is the fourth studio album by the Canadian alternative rock band Our Lady Peace, released by Columbia Records in December 2000. Although not initially intended, the project evolved into a conceptual interpretation of futurist and inventor Raymond Kurzweil's 1999 book ''The Age of Spiritual Machines''. Short tracks of spoken dialog from Kurzweil himself are interspersed among the actual songs on the album. The Kurzweil K250 keyboard, one of his inventions, was utilized throughout the recording of the album. The album was written and recorded in two months while the band was still on tour in support of their previous record, '' Happiness... Is Not a Fish That You Can Catch'', which had only been released 14 months prior. Juno Award
The Juno Awards, more popularly known as the JUNOS, are awards presented annually to Canadian musical artists and bands to acknowledge their artistic and technical achievements in all aspects of music. MuchMusic Video Awards
The iHeartRadio MMVAs were an annual awards show broadcast on Much to honour the year's best music videos that was last held in 2018. Originally debuting in 1990 as the Canadian Music Video Awards, the awards were renamed in 1995 to the MuchMusic Video Awards, reflecting the original (1984–2013) "MuchMusic" name of the Much channel. In 2016, the show was rebranded under the iHeartRadio banner after Much's parent company, Bell Media, reached a licensing agreement with iHeartMedia. In 2018, the show's full name was officially dropped.
