Oleskiw is a residential neighbourhood in west Edmonton, Alberta, Canada that overlooks the North Saskatchewan River valley to the east and south. The Edmonton Golf and Country Club is a feature of the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is named after Joseph Oleskiw, a Ukrainian scholar who promoted immigration to Canada. Westridge is a residential neighbourhood in west Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The neighbourhood is bounded to the north and northeast by Patricia Ravine and to the south by Wolf Willow Ravine. The southeast tip overlooks the North Saskatchewan River valley. The western boundary is 170 Street. Access to the neighbourhood is exclusively by way of Wolf Willow Road. According to the 2001 federal census, four out of five (80.2%) of the residences in Westridge were built during the 1970s. The remaining one in five (19.8%) were built during the 1980s. Almost all of the houses in the neighbourhood (93.5%), according to the 2005 municipal census, are single-family dwellings. The remainder (6.5%) are row houses. Beth Israel Synagogue (Edmonton, Alberta)
Beth Israel Synagogue ( he, בית ישראל) is a Modern Orthodox synagogue located at 131 Wolf Willow Road NW in the Oleskiw neighbourhood of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Founded in 1906 as the Edmonton Hebrew Association, it is the city's oldest synagogue. Beth Israel's (and Edmonton's) first rabbi was Hyman Goldstick, recruited from Toronto in 1906; he was later elected mayor of Edson, Alberta. The congregation's Hebrew school, founded in 1907, would share space with the congregation until 1925, and later became Canada's first Jewish day school. Over the years, the congregation has occupied three different buildings; in 1912 it moved into its first building on 95th Street. West Edmonton Mall (WEM) is a shopping mall in Edmonton, Alberta, that is owned, managed, and operated by Triple Five Group. Southgate Centre is a shopping centre located in south Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, covering just under 90,000 square metres. Whitemud Drive
Whitemud Drive is a major east–west freeway in southern Edmonton, Alberta, that stretches from 231 Street at the western city limit to Anthony Henday Drive just east of Edmonton in Strathcona County.
