Ole Rasmussen Apeness
Ole Rasmussen Apeness (11 February 1765 – 14 February 1859) was a Norwegian district sheriff, soldier, and farmer. He served as a representative at the Norwegian Constitutional Assembly. Ole Rasmussen Apeness was born at Borre in Vestfold, Norway. Apeness was associated Haugean pietistic state church reform movement. He became a soldier in 1783 and participated as a non-commissioned officer in the campaign against Sweden in 1788. In 1794 he became sheriff in Borre, a post he held for 30 years. From 1808 to 1845 he was with the Conciliation Commission (''Forlikskommisjon''). In 1794, he was married to Elen Marie Hansdatter (1775–1818). In 1789, he bought the family farm from his mother where he and his wife raised their seven children. In 1819, his farm, Apenesgården, was purchased for use as Karljohansvern, the main base for the Royal Norwegian Navy in Horten from 1819 to 1963. Hedevig Lund
Hedevig Thorine Christine Erichsen Lund (June 11, 1824 – March 16, 1888) was a Norwegian painter. Biography Lund was born in Kristiansand, the daughter of Ole Wilhelm Erichsen (1793–1860) and Abel Marie née Isaachsen (1803–1883). Her father was a member of the Council of State and minister of the navy, and he owned the Semb farm in Borre in Vestfold county, Norway. Lund is particularly known for her portraits, and she created many commissioned works for Eidsvollsbygningen gallery depicting members of the National Assembly. Horten
is a town and municipality in Vestfold in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway—located along the Oslofjord. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Horten. The municipality also includes the town of Åsgårdstrand and the villages of Borre, Skoppum, and Nykirke. The town of Horten was separated from the municipality of Borre to become a municipality of its own in 1858. The neighboring municipalities of Borre and Horten were merged back together on 1 January 1988. The name of the new united municipality was first ''Borre'', but after a referendum it was changed to ''Horten'' on 1 June 2002. Gustav Peter Blom
Gustav Peter Blom (4 July 1785 – 28 October 1869) was a Norwegian civil servant, politician and historian. He was a member of the Norwegian Constitutional Assembly at Eidsvoll during 1814. Blom was born at Hurum in Buskerud, Norway. Blom took his law degree in 1807 and worked as district stipendiary magistrate (''sorenskriver'') in Nordre Jarlsberg. Herman Wedel-Jarlsberg
Count Johan Caspar Herman Wedel Jarlsberg (21 September 1779 – 27 August 1840) was a Norwegian statesman and nobleman. The Norwegian Constituent Assembly (in Norwegian ''Grunnlovsforsamlingen'', also known as ''Riksforsamlingen'') is the name given to the 1814 constitutional assembly at Eidsvoll in Norway, that adopted the Norwegian Constitution and formalised the dissolution of the union with Denmark. Sem, Norway
Sem is a village in Tønsberg in Vestfold county, Norway. Sem was a former municipality in Vestfold. The parish of ''Sæm'' was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). According to the 1835 census the municipality had a population of 3,590. On 1 January 1965 the district Stang with 126 inhabitants was incorporated into the former municipality of Borre. On 1 January 1988 the rest was incorporated into the municipality of Tønsberg. Prior to the merger Sem was about three times the size of Tønsberg, which had a population of 21,948. Borre is a village in the municipality of Horten, Vestfold county, Norway. The village of Borre had provided the name of the former Borre municipality. The name The Old Norse form of the name was ''Borró''. The meaning of the name is unknown. Karjohansvern (''Karljohansvern Orlogsstasjon, KJV'') at Horten was the main base for the Royal Norwegian Navy from 1850 to 1963. Background In 1818, it was decided to establish a naval base in Horten. It was first called ''Hortens verft'', and later ''Marinens Hovedværft'' until King Oscar I named it ''Carljohansværn værft'' in 1854 (after his father Karl Johan). The shipyards was begun in 1820 and the first launch, a frigate, was in 1828.
