Hedevig Lund
Hedevig Thorine Christine Erichsen Lund (June 11, 1824 – March 16, 1888) was a Norwegian painter. Biography Lund was born in Kristiansand, the daughter of Ole Wilhelm Erichsen (1793–1860) and Abel Marie née Isaachsen (1803–1883). Her father was a member of the Council of State and minister of the navy, and he owned the Semb farm in Borre in Vestfold county, Norway. Lund is particularly known for her portraits, and she created many commissioned works for Eidsvollsbygningen gallery depicting members of the National Assembly. She also painted landscapes, including ''Landskapsstudie Borrevannet'' (Lake Borre Landscape Study, 1878), which is displayed in the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design.''Norske malerier: katalog''. 1992. Bernt Lund
Bernt Lund (July 14, 1812 – October 30, 1885) was a 19th-century Norwegian landscape artist, author and military officer. Biography Lund was born in Våler in Hedmark, Norway. He took military officer exam in 1837 and spent his career in the Norwegian Army advancing to Captain in 1863. However, he later resigned to dedicate himself to engineering. He also trained as an artist. He attended art school with landscape painter Thomas Fearnley (1839-1840). He studied landscape art under the influence of Hans Gude in Düsseldorf (1844-1845). Besides painting, Lund was also active as a writer. He published a book of poetry in 1882. He especially became known as the author the poem ''Trysil-Knud'' (1861), which was used as an inspiration for the 1942 Norwegian film ''Trysil-Knut''. His work is also featured in Christian Tønsberg's illustrated volume ''Norge fremstillet i Tegninger'' (Norway Presented in Drawings, 1846–1848). Kristiansand is a seaside resort city and municipality in Agder county, Norway. The Council of State (Norwegian: ''Statsrådet''), is a formal body composed of the most senior government ministers chosen by the Prime Minister, and functions as the collective decision-making organ constituting the executive branch of the Kingdom. Borre, Norway
Borre is a village in the municipality of Horten, Vestfold county, Norway. The village of Borre had provided the name of the former Borre municipality. The name The Old Norse form of the name was ''Borró''. The meaning of the name is unknown. History The municipality was created as Borre formannskapsdistrikt in 1837 and bore the municipality number 0717. On 1 January 1858, the city of Horten was separated from Borre to constitute a separate administrative unit, leaving Borre with a population of 2,954. Horten got the municipality number 0703, the third digit of zero indicating its city status. Starting in 1921, a series of border adjustments which moved territory from Borre to Horten took place. Vestfold
Vestfold is a traditional region, a former county and a current electoral district in Eastern Norway. In 2020 the county became part of the much larger county of Vestfold og Telemark. Eidsvollsbygningen
Eidsvollsbygningen (Literally: ''The Eidsvoll building'') is a historic manor house located at Eidsvoll in Viken county, Norway. The building is where the Constitution of Norway was signed on 17 May 1814. The estate is now owned by The State of Norway and is an official national monument, as well as a museum. History The building was first constructed in 1770 with a total floor area of over 2000 square metres. Around 1800 Carsten Anker bought the building. He renovated the manor house and he and his family were living there when the Constitution was signed. Carsten Anker went bankrupt in 1822 and the ownership of the estate was transferred to various British creditors in 1823. A group of private citizens led by Henrik Wergeland organized a fundraiser that allowed them to buy the building with the pavilion and surrounding garden (''Eidsvollsparken''). Stokken Church
Stokken Church ( no, Stokken kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Arendal Municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the village of Saltrød. It is one of the churches for the Moland parish which is part of the Arendal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1878 using plans drawn up by the architect Johan Christoff Friedrich Reuter. The church seats about 400 people. History The church was originally built as a chapel of ease for the Stokken congregation of the Austre Moland parish. The timber-framed church stands on a slope at Stuenes. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality.
