Old Time Buddy
''Old Time Buddy'' () is a 1997 Hong Kong period comedy television drama created and produced by TVB. The Chinese title translates to "brothers in hardship." ''Old Time Buddy'' is set primarily in the 1960s and tells the story of two struggling young actors who end up becoming Hong Kong's iconic film idols. It stars Francis Ng, Gallen Lo, Jessica Hsuan, and Maggie Cheung Ho-yee, who portray characters based on screen idols Patrick Tse, Lui Kei, Josephine Siao, and Connie Chan respectively. Original broadcast began on Hong Kong's TVB Jade channel from June 23 till July 26, 1997 every Monday through Friday during its 7:30pm to 8:30pm timeslot with a total of 25 episodes. Gallen Lo
Gallen Lo Ka-leung () is a Hong Kong actor and singer who primarily acts in television series. He is sometimes credited as King Gallen or Law Ka-Leung. Career Lo started his television career in 1984 at ATV. He received short-term success in acting ATV and singing theme songs for some ATV series. Lo left ATV for rival TVB, but his career did not bloom until 1996, when he was cast in the series ''Old Time Buddy'' in 1997 and ''Secret of the Heart'' in 1998. Lo Mang is a Hong Kong martial artist and actor who was born as Lo Kwan Lam in Hong Kong on 23 July 1952. Primarily known for starring in ''Shaw Brothers'' kung fu movies during the latter part of the 1970s and into the 1980s. Bak Sheut-sin (born 19 May 1928 in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China), also known as Bai Xuexian, is a former Chinese opera actress in China and Hong Kong. Career Bak is notable for pairing up with fellow Cantonese opera star Yam Kim Fai. Two of her major works are ''The Peony Pavilion'' and '' Tai Nui Fa''. Yam Kim-fai
Yam Kim-fai (, 4 February 1913 (Lunar 29 December 1912 – 29 November 1989), also known as Ren Jianhui was a renowned Cantonese opera actress in China and Hong Kong. Yam was most notable for her unique ability to sing in the lower register. That her opera voice was indistinguishable from a male one allowed her to play either male or female roles, though she usually performed male ones. On 24 June 1972, Yam performed for the last time in public and TV viewers looked for the "man" they knew from movies/stage performances. They did not expect to see her in a 2-piece set of jacket and qipao (cheongsam) with floral print. Kenneth Chan Kai-tai (born 16 July 1964) is a Hong Kong actor and television host for Cable TV Hong Kong channel (previously working for TVB and ATV).
