The Old Mill
''The Old Mill'' is a 1937 ''Silly Symphonies'' cartoon produced by Walt Disney Productions, directed by Wilfred Jackson, scored by Leigh Harline, and released theatrically to theatres by RKO Radio Pictures on November 5, 1937. The film depicts the natural community of animals populating an old abandoned windmill in the country, and how they deal with a severe summer thunderstorm that nearly destroys their habitat. It incorporates the song "One Day When We Were Young" from Johann Strauss II's operetta ''The Gypsy Baron''. ''The Old Mill'' was the first ''Silly Symphony'' cartoon to be released by RKO and was added a new ''Silly Symphony'' logo, some new titles, and a burlap background which was used for several other Disney theatrical cartoon series like ''Donald Duck'', ''Goofy'', ''Mickey Mouse'', and ''Pluto the Pup''. This ''Silly Symphonies'' cartoon was re-issued to theatres by Buena Vista Distribution. Like many of the later ''Silly Symphony'' shorts, ''The Old Mill'' was ...

Pigeon Forge Mill
The Pigeon Forge Mill, commonly called the Old Mill, is a historic gristmill in the U.S. city of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Located along the West Fork of the Little Pigeon River, the mill complex currently consists of a millhouse, breastshot wheel, and milldam, all of which are operative. The mill is the only structure in Pigeon Forge listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Now a souvenir shop and restaurant, the Pigeon Forge Mill was once part of a small industrial complex established by local businessman Isaac Love (1783–1854) that included the iron forge for which the city was named. The mill was initially used to grind grain— mainly corn, wheat, and oats— for local farmers. During the U.S. Civil War (1861–1865), the mill powered several looms which produced cloth for the military. In the early 1900s, a generator was installed at the mill which provided electricity to the area until 1930. After the establishment of the Great Smoky Mounta ...

Crystal Mill
The Crystal Mill, or the Old Mill is an 1892 wooden powerhouse located on an outcrop above the Crystal River in Crystal, Colorado, United States. It is accessible from Marble, Colorado via four-wheel drive. Although called a Watermill, it is more correctly denoted as a compressor station, which used a water turbine to drive an air compressor, and was originally built with a horizontal wheel. The compressed air was then used to power other machinery or tools. Names In the 21st century, the mill is usually called the ''Crystal Mill'' or the ''Old Crystal Mill''. Many decades ago, when the mill was still in use, it was called the ''Sheep Mountain Power House'' at the ''Lost Horse Millsite'', or simply the ''Lost Horse Mill''. The building is built on a mining claim named "Lost Horse". Sometimes it is erroneously called the ''Dead Horse Mill''. The site is referred to as a "mill" because there was a 3-stamp mill for crushing ore, in a building directly adjacent to the south ...
