Olaf Hegland
Olaf Hegland (1885–1939) was a Norwegian civil servant and lawyer. He served as the County Governor of Telemark county from 1933 until 1938. In 1908, Hegland passed his legal civil service examination. In 1922, he became a lawyer. In 1910, he was hired as deputy public prosecutor and deputy city bailiff in Kristiansand. In 1913, he started working with the magistrate in Vest-Telemark. Also in 1913, he started working as an attorney with lawyer Didrik Cappelen in Kviteseid. In 1916, he became a partner in Cappelen's law firm, which he completely took over in 1918. In Kviteseid, Hegland was also involved in local politics for the Liberal Party. Arendal () is a city in Agder county, Norway. The city is the administrative centre of the municipality of Arendal and the seat of the County Governor of Agder. Kviteseid
Kviteseid is a Municipalities of Norway, municipality in Telemark in the Counties of Norway, county of Vestfold og Telemark in Norway. It is part of the Districts of Norway, traditional region of Upper Telemark and Vest-Telemark. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Kviteseid. The parish of ''Hvideseid'' was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). Kviteseid Seminar was the first public school which started in 1819 and was in operation until 1889. Kviteseid Library (''Kviteseid Folkebibliotek'') was founded in 1895. Kornelius Bergsvik
Kornelius Olai Person Bergsvik (18 March 1889 – 2 May 1975) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party, born in Austrheim, Hordaland. Bergsvik represented Hordaland in the Norwegian Parliament from 1928 to 1945. In 1936 he was appointed to the Nygaardsvold Cabinet. Bergsvik served as Minister of Social Affairs 1935–1936, and Minister of Finance 1936–1939. Guthorm Hallager
Guthorm Hallager (1864-1932) was a Norwegian civil servant and lawyer. He served as the County Governor of Telemark county from 1910 until 1932. He was the son of law professor and Supreme Court judge Georg Frederik Hallager. Hallager received his cand.jur. degree in 1886. In 1888, he became deputy magistrate and later became the town clerk in Kragerø. He was then employed in the Ministry of Justice in 1889. In 1894, he was named a royal plenipotentiary. From 1895 to 1898 he was Norwegian secretary in the third union committee. Hallager was appointed county governor for Telemark county from 1910 to 1932 (the county was named Bratsberg from 1910 to 1918). He was a knight of the first class of the Order of St. Olav. The Vest-Telemark traditional district of Norway comprises the upper and western areas of the larger region of Upper Telemark in the county of Vestfold og Telemark. The region consists of six municipalities: Fyresdal, Tokke, Vinje, Nissedal, Kviteseid and Seljord. Vest-Telemark belongs to the traditional region Upper Telemark. The region is known for its folk traditions within music, clothing, handcrafts, food and architecture. The region is also distinctly marked by its dialects of Norwegian.
