Ola Kaczorek
Aleksandra Kaczorek, known as Ola Kaczorek, is a Polish LGBT rights activist. They are co-president of ''Love Does Not Exclude''. In 2020, they became a founding member of the Consultative Council created on 1 November 2020 in the context of the October 2020 Polish protests. LGBT activism In April 2020, Kaczorek criticised a proposed law that associated sex educators with pedophiles, arguing that sex educators teaching gender identity would risk prosecution, including prison sentences. They said that the already unfriendly psychological environment for non-heterosexual children would be worsened by the law. The Consultative Council ( pl, Rada Konsultacyjna) is a non-Government council created on 1 November 2020 by All-Poland Women's Strike ( pl, Ogólnopolski Strajk Kobiet, OSK) in the context of the October 2020 Polish protests. Profaning A Monument
Profaning a monument ( pl, Znieważenie pomnika), also translated as insulting a monument, is criminalized by Article 261 of the Criminal Code (Poland), Criminal Code of Poland, punishable by a fine or restriction of liberty. The law makes no distinction between worthy and unworthy objects of commemoration. A relatively small number of people have been charged under the law, of whom not all were convicted. Law Article 261 of the Polish Criminal Code states in its entirety: "Whoever profanes a monument or other public place commemorating a historic event or honour a person shall be subject to a fine or the penalty of restriction of liberty". Therefore, insulting a monument can only be done deliberately. The crime does not require physical damage to or physical contact with the monument. August 2020 LGBT Protests In Poland
On 7 August 2020, a protest against the arrest of LGBT activist Margot led to a confrontation with police in central Warsaw and resulted in the arrest of 47 others, some of whom were protesting and others who were bystanders to the event, dubbed "Polish Stonewall" in an analogy to the 1969 Stonewall riots.
