Ohrada Zoo
South Bohemian Zoological Gardens of Hluboká nad Vltavou ( cs, Jihočeská zoologická zahrada Hluboká nad Vltavou), known as Ohrada Zoo ( cs, Zoo Hluboká) is a zoo in the town of Hluboká nad Vltavou, Czech Republic, which opened in 1939. The zoo is specialized in animals from the European Palearctic zoogeographical region, and the Czech Republic. Creation of the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog Karel Hartl's lecture, "Results of crossing wolves with dogs", received a lot of attention at the World Dog Show held in June 1965 in Brno and in Prague at the annual meeting of the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) and the International Cynologic Congress. Hluboká nad Vltavou (; until 1885 ''Podhrad'', german: Frauenberg) is a town in České Budějovice District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 5,400 inhabitants. The European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), is an organisation for the European zoo and aquarium community that links over 340 member organisations in 41 countries. EAZA membership is open to all zoos and aquaria across Europe that comply with EAZA's standards. The Palearctic or Palaearctic is the largest of the eight biogeographic realms of the Earth. It stretches across all of Eurasia north of the foothills of the Himalayas, and North Africa. World Dog Show
The World Dog Show is a Fédération Cynologique Internationale-sanctioned, four- to six-day-long international dog show, held yearly since 1971. It has been called "the most important dog show in the world". The World Show includes agility, obedience, junior handler, conformation, and other events and demonstrations. Dogs who win in any category are awarded the title "World Winner". The show places a special emphasis on rare and unusual dog breeds. It is one of the largest dog shows in the world, with shows attracting upwards of 10,000 entrants. It is held in a different country each year. The Fédération cynologique internationale (FCI) (English: International Canine Federation) is the largest international federation of national kennel clubs. It is based in Thuin, Belgium. History The FCI was founded in 1911 under the auspices of the kennel clubs of Austria, Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands, its objective was to bring global uniformity to the breeding, exhibiting and judging of pure-bred dogs. The National Security Corps ( cz, Sbor národní bezpečnosti; SNB; sk, Zbor národnej bezpečnosti; ZNB) was the national police in Czechoslovakia from 1945 to 1991. Czechoslovakian Wolfdog
The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog ( cz, Československý vlčák, sk, Československý vlčiak, german: Tschechoslowakischer Wolfhund) is a wolf-dog breed that began as an experiment conducted in Czechoslovakia in 1955. After initially breeding working line German Shepherds with Carpathian grey wolves, a plan was worked out to create a breed that would have the temperament, pack mentality, and trainability of the German Shepherd and the strength, physical build and stamina of the Carpathian wolf.
