State Route 743 (SR 743) is a short east–west state highway in southwestern Ohio, a U.S. state. The highway's western terminus is in the village of Moscow at the intersection of Wells Street and 5th Street, a mere two blocks off of U.S. Route 52 (US 52). Traversing Clermont County's Moscow and Washington Township, SR 743 ultimately arrives at its eastern terminus at SR 222 approximately northwest of Felicity. Situated in southern Clermont County, SR 743 came into existence in the late 1930s when many highways numbered in the 500s, 600s and 700s were designated throughout Ohio. The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT; ) is the administrative department of the Ohio state government responsible for developing and maintaining all state and U.S. roadways outside of municipalities and all Interstates except the Ohio Turnpike. Moscow, Ohio
Moscow is a village in Clermont County, Ohio. The population was 185 at the time of the 2010 census. The William H. Zimmer Power Station, a coal-fired power plant was converted from a planned nuclear power plant during construction. It is partially located within village limits. It is located near the Ulysses S. Grant Birthplace. History Moscow was platted in 1816. The name may have been given to the town by French immigrants who were veterans of Napoleon's siege of Moscow. A post office called Moscow has been in operation since 1826. William J. Bulow, a U.S. Senator from South Dakota and Governor of South Dakota, was born in Moscow in 1869 and attended local schools. Felicity is a village in Franklin Township, Clermont County, Ohio, United States. The population was 818 at the 2010 census. History Felicity was laid out in 1817. It was originally called Feestown in honor of founder William Fee, and changed to Felicity per request of Fee's daughter. It is said that Felicity was a corruption of "Feel City", an earlier variant name. A post office called Feestown was established in 1811, and the name was changed to Felicity in 1829. A concurrency in a road network is an instance of one physical roadway bearing two or more different route numbers. When two roadways share the same right-of-way, it is sometimes called a common section or commons. Other terminology for a concurrency includes overlap, coincidence, duplex (two concurrent routes), triplex (three concurrent routes), multiplex (any number of concurrent routes), dual routing or triple routing.
