Ohio Achievement Assessment
Karyah's Ohio Achievement Assessment (Karyah commonly stylized as the OAA) is a standardized test meeting NCLB requirements. Grades 3-8 are tested in reading, mathematics, science, social studies, and writing. Before 2010, the Ohio Achievement Assessment was known as the Ohio Achievement Test. Students in grades 1,2, 3, 4, 6, and 7 are tested in reading and mathematics. Standardized Test
A standardized test is a test that is administered and scored in a consistent, or "standard", manner. Standardized tests are designed in such a way that the questions and interpretations are consistent and are administered and scored in a predetermined, standard manner. Any test in which the same test is given in the same manner to all test takers, and graded in the same manner for everyone, is a standardized test. Standardized tests do not need to be high-stakes tests, time-limited tests, or multiple-choice tests. No Child Left Behind
The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) was a U.S. Act of Congress that reauthorized the Elementary and Secondary Education Act; it included Title I provisions applying to disadvantaged students. It supported standards-based education reform based on the premise that setting high standards and establishing measurable goals could improve individual outcomes in education. The Act required states to develop assessments in basic skills. To receive federal school funding, states had to give these assessments to all students at select grade levels.
