Oh No Ono
Oh No Ono was a musical quintet from Aalborg, Denmark. The band was formed in 2003 by Kristoffer Rom (drums), Kristian Olsen (keyboards, etc.), Malthe Fischer (vocals, guitar and samples) and Aske Zidore (guitar, vocals, samples). History Oh No Ono released an EP ('' Now You Know Oh No Ono'') in February 2005 and has since then been a highly influential band on the Danish music scene. On their debut album ''Yes'', the band, which has grown from 4 to 5 members since its beginning (with the addition of Nis Svoldgaard on bass), mixed old virtues with a modern sound and production, creating a mix of alternative pop, electroclash, funk and new wave. The vocals of Malthe Fischer move insistently on top of a collage of synthesizers, organ, syncopated guitars, slap bass and a tight cyber-funk groove. ''Yes'' was produced by Jesper Mortensen & Oh No Ono and it was recorded in Deltalab, Thomas Troelsen's studio where some of the most recognized Danish and international artists have recorde ...

Eurodisco Groups
Eurodisco (also spelled as Euro disco) is the variety of European forms of electronic dance music that evolved from disco in the late 1970s, incorporating elements of pop and rock into a disco-like continuous dance atmosphere. Many Eurodisco compositions feature lyrics sung in English, although the singers often share a different mother tongue. Eurodisco derivatives generally include Europop and Eurodance, with the most prominent sub-genres being space disco of the late 1970s and Italo disco of the early 1980s. The genre declined in popularity after 1986 in preference to electronic rock and hi-NRG, with a small revival of Italo disco in at least the late 1990s. History Eurodisco is largely an offshoot of contemporary American music trends going far back to the early times of R&B, soul, disco, pop and rock. During the 1960s, Europop hits spread around France, Italy and Germany, because of the French Scopitone (jukebox) and the Italian Cinebox/Coilorama Video-jukebox machines. ...

Contact Microphone
A contact microphone, also known as a piezo microphone, is a form of microphone that senses audio vibrations through contact with solid objects. Unlike normal air microphones, contact microphones are almost completely insensitive to air vibrations but transduce only structure-borne sound. Often used as acoustic leakage probes, they also enjoy wide usage by noise music artists experimenting with sound. Contact microphones can be used to amplify sound from acoustic musical instruments, to sense drum hits, for triggering electronic samples, and to record sound in challenging environments, such as underwater under high pressure. Contact microphones based on piezo materials are passive and high-impedance, and they sound tinny without a matching preamp. The most commonly available contact microphone element is made of a thin piezoelectric ceramic round glued to a thin brass or alloy metal disc. This center disc is positively charged while the brass disc is negatively charged. T ...

Tambourhinoceros
Tambourhinoceros is a Danish independent record label and Music publisher. Background The label was created by two members of the band Oh No Ono in 2009 as a way for the founders to show the "burning love we have for music (our releases as well as art and music)". Its first release was Kristen and Marie's debut EP in May 2010. Tambourhinoceros became internationally known for its production of Danish indie pop band Treefight for Sunlight, which received positive ratings in both the US and the UK. On that band's debut album, ''A Collection of Vibrations for Your Skull'', a song entitled "Tambourhinoceros Jam" was included, which is assumed to be a tribute to the record label. Since then the label has released internationally successful artists like Iceage, Palace Winter and Efterklang among others. In 2011, Tambourhinoceros was awarded with a Gaffa Award for its contribution to the Danish music scene. Whilst it is primarily a record label, Tambourhinoceros is also doing publi ...

Indie Record Label
An independent record label (or indie label) is a record label that operates without the funding or distribution of major record labels; they are a type of small- to medium-sized enterprise, or SME. The labels and artists are often represented by trade associations in their country or region, which in turn are represented by the international trade body, the Worldwide Independent Network (WIN). Many of the labels started as producers and distributors of specific genres of music, such as jazz music, or represent something new and non-mainstream, such as Elvis Presley in the early days. Indies release rock, soul, R&B, jazz, blues, gospel, reggae, hip hop, and world music. Music appearing on indie labels is often referred to as indie music, or more specifically by genre, such as indie hip-hop. Overview Independent record labels are small companies that produce and distribute records. They are not affiliated with or funded by the three major records labels. According to Soun ...

Eggs (Oh No Ono Album)
''Eggs'' is the second studio album by Danish psychedelic pop band Oh No Ono, released on 20 April 2009. The album made a brief appearance on the Denmark Top 40 charts, peaking at #25. Background In 2008, pianist and keyboardist Kristian Olsen left the band and was replaced by Nicolai Koch, whom the band met in Copenhagen. After their previous album, ''Yes'', the band compiled lists of musical ideas they wished to explore for their next album and experimented by combining the various parts. Writing In an interview with ''The Quietus'', Koch explained that the band approached writing songs for the album by having each member write a different part of each song, and then the band would assemble the parts together. The eclectic influences for the album were drawn from throughout the recording process; the band has listed Kraftwerk, old-school hip hop, and Black Dice as direct inspirations. Recording The album was recorded over nine months in four different locations across Europe ...

Keyboard Instrument
A keyboard instrument is a musical instrument played using a keyboard, a row of levers which are pressed by the fingers. The most common of these are the piano, organ, and various electronic keyboards, including synthesizers and digital pianos. Other keyboard instruments include celestas, which are struck idiophones operated by a keyboard, and carillons, which are usually housed in bell towers or belfries of churches or municipal buildings. Today, the term ''keyboard'' often refers to keyboard-style synthesizers. Under the fingers of a sensitive performer, the keyboard may also be used to control dynamics, phrasing, shading, articulation, and other elements of expression—depending on the design and inherent capabilities of the instrument. Another important use of the word ''keyboard'' is in historical musicology, where it means an instrument whose identity cannot be firmly established. Particularly in the 18th century, the harpsichord, the clavichord, and the early ...
