Ogtay Aghayev
Ogtay Dzhafarovich Aghayev ( az, Oqtay Ağayev, russian: Октай Джафарович Агаев; November 7, 1934 – November 13, 2006) was a Soviet, Azerbaijani variety singer and People's Artist of Azerbaijan. Biography Ogtay Aghayev was born in 1934, in Baku. In 1953, he entered Asaf Zeynally Music School in Baku. After coming from the army, he continued his education in the class of Firudin Mehdiyev. By 1958, he began to perform in Gaya Quartet. Later he became a soloist at Azerbaijan State Estrada Orchestra led by Rauf Hajiyev until 1970. Until 1984 he worked as soloist at Radio and Television Estrada Orchestra led by Tofig Ehmedov. In 1962, he performed at the State Kremlin Palace with this orchestra. Ogtay Aghayev also performed in tours in countries such as Algeria, Morocco, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, Romania and also in all republics of the former USSR. Ogtay Asadov
Ogtay Sabir oglu Asadov ( az, Oqtay Sabir oğlu Əsədov; born January 3, 1955) is an Azerbaijani politician who has served as the Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan between 2005 and 2020. Early life Asadov was born in the village of Shaharjik in Syunik Province in Armenia. He graduated from the Machinery Manufacturing Technologies Department of the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. From 1976 on, Asadov worked as the assistant manager and then manager at the Baku Air Conditioners Plant. In 1979, he was hired as the Senior Engineer at Azerbaijan Main Renovation and Special Construction Department and then worked in the management of ''Azərsantexquraşdırma'', a subsidiary of the same organization. Ogtay Gulaliyev is an Azerbaijani human rights activist. His organization, Kur Civic Society, provides assistance for people affected by environmental disasters. Oqtay Gulaliyev was born in 1975 in Baku, Azerbaijan, USSR. In 1998 he graduated from the Academy of State Service under the Presidential Administration, worked as lawyer. In 2010 he went into human rights protection activity when he came into contact with flood-hit residents of Sabirabad region. In 2010 Gulaliyev headed headquarters of civil society «Kura» that dealt with human rights protection of flood- hit population on rivers Kura and Arax in May–June 2010. In April 2012, he was arrested during a meeting in Sabirabad Rayon. Initially charged with "swearing in a public place", the charges were later upgraded to "active resistance to authorities' legal orders" and "incitement to mass riots and to violence against citizens". Ogtay Seyid Huseyn oghlu Sadigzade ( az, Oqtay Seyid Hüseyn oğlu Sadıqzadə, 24 February 1921 – 20 December 2014) was a Soviet and Azerbaijani visual artist. He was awarded the title People's Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan (1992), laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2014), Personal pensioner of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2002). Biography Ogtay Sadigzade was born on 21 February 1921 in Khizi. From 1935 to 1939, he studied at the Baku Art Technical College and attracted the attention of art critics with his early works. In 1941, as a member of a repressed family, Ogtay Sadygzade was exiled, but despite the difficult conditions he found himself in, he continued his creativity. After returning to Baku in 1946, he began to engage in book graphics and achieved success in this field. Ogtay Abiloglu Samadov or Samedov ( az, Oqtay Əbil oğlu Səmədov; russian: Огтай Абиль оглы Самедов; born 5 April 1952) is an Azerbaijani nuclear physicist who since 2015 has been director of the Institute of Radiation Problems of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. Early life and education Samadov was born in Xol Qarabucaq, Neftchala Rayon, Neftchala in a family of teachers. In 1969, he graduated from the secondary school No.2 named after Nizami in Salyan and in 1975, he successfully graduated from physical department of Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University).
