''Oggatonama'' ( bn, অজ্ঞাতনামা ) is a 2016 Bangladeshi drama film directed and written by Tauquir Ahmed. It was selected as the Bangladeshi entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. The film stars Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Mosharraf Karim, Nipun Akter, Shatabdi Wadud, and several others. Oggatonama was released on 19 August 2016 in Bangladesh by Impress Telefilm. It is typically about a Bangladeshi migrant who illegally entered the United Arab Emirates with a fake passport and dies in a fatal incident, but the Bangladesh police receives the wrong corpse. Tauquir Ahmed
Tauquir Ahmed (born 5 March 1966) is a Bangladeshi architect and actor, turned director in both television and cinema. His films won many international and national awards including Bangladesh National Film Awards in the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director, Best Director, Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Screenplay, Best Screenplay and Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Story, Best Story categories for the films ''Joyjatra'' (2004) and ''Oggatonama'' (2016). List Of Submissions To The 89th Academy Awards For Best Foreign Language Film
This is a list of submissions to the 89th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has invited the film industries of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film every year since the award was created in 1956. The award is presented annually by the Academy to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. The Foreign Language Film Award Committee oversees the process and reviews all the submitted films. The submitted motion pictures must be first released theatrically in their respective countries between 1 October 2015 and 30 September 2016. The deadline for submissions was 3 October 2016, with the Academy announcing a list of eligible films on 11 October. Fazlur Rahman Babu (born 22 August 1960) is a Bangladeshi actor and singer. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor 4 times for his roles in the films ''Shonkhonaad'' (2004), '' Meyeti Ekhon Kothay Jabe'' (2017), ''Fagun Haway'' (2019) and '' Bishwoshundori'' (2020). Nazmul Huda Bachchu (11 July 1938 – 28 June 2017) was a Bangladeshi film and television actor. He won Bangladesh National Film Award. Early life and education From 1938 to 1950 he was in Kolkata with his parents. His father was a doctor at Kolkata Railway Hospital. After partition they moved to East Pakistan (Bangladesh). Bachchu completed his post graduation in political science from the University of Dhaka in 1963. Bachchu began his career in music and became a singer and music director. Abul Hayat (born 7 September 1944) is a Bangladeshi actor. He is also a writer, civil engineer and director.
