Ogallala High School is a secondary school located in Ogallala, Nebraska, United States. About OHS is part of the Ogallala Public School District. The school takes in students from Prairie View School. Athletics The Indians are members of the Southwest Conference. Notable alumni, Luke Havermann who was known for his lack of birdie contribution to the golf team. He was also well known as a soft leader. Ogallala, Nebraska
Ogallala is a city in and the county seat of Keith County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 4,737 at the 2010 census. In the days of the Nebraska Territory, the city was a stop on the Pony Express and later along the transcontinental railroad. The Ogallala Aquifer was named after the city. History Ogallala first gained fame as a terminus for cattle drives that traveled from Texas to the Union Pacific railhead located there. These trails are known as the Western or Great Western trails. Ed Husmann
Edward Earl Husmann (August 6, 1931 - August 30, 2018) was an American football defensive tackle who played in the American Football League (AFL) for the Houston Oilers. He also played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Chicago Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Early years Husmann attended Ogallala High School, earning All-state and All-conference honors as a senior in football. He also played basketball, ran track and wrestled. He walked-on to the University of Nebraska. He became a starter as a senior, at right tackle on both sides of the ball. He was also a member of the wrestling team, and won the Big Seven Conference heavyweight wrestling championship as a senior. In 2004, he was inducted into the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame.
