Oedipus (band)
Oedipus was a rock band from Los Angeles. The band consisted of Jeremy Haffner (lead vocals, bass guitar), Stephen Cohen (guitar, vocals) and Keith Larsen (drums, vocals). The band's influences included Rage Against the Machine, Tool, Muse, 311 and Incubus, among others. In 2013, Haffner and Cohen called the end of Oedipus. They are now part of a musical project JJXO. History Formation and first releases (2001–2009) Jeremy Haffner and Stephen Cohen first met each other through local youth hockey team at the age of 6. "In 1997, we were the first California youth team to ever win a National Championship," says Cohen. The two musicians formed a band when they were teens, in 2001. Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Independent labels such as Flying Nun Records, Flying Nun began to promote the scene across New Zealand, inspiring key college rock bands in the United States such as Pavement (band), Pavement, Pixies (band), Pixies and R.E.M. Eska Rock
Eska Rock (often stylized as Eska ROCK) is a Polish radio channel broadcast by Grupa Radiowa Time. The station plays mainly modern rock, indie rock and alternative rock, from "classic" rock songs, to the newest "hits". It was the largest rock radio station broadcasting in Poland. Eska Rock started broadcasting in Poznań on 22 November 2004, in Łódź and Warsaw on 5 September 2005 and in Cracow on 20 March 2006. From 2 June 2008 to 1 December 2013, Eska Rock broadcast in 18 Polish cities. On 2 December 2013, the frequencies on which Eska Rock broadcast were switched with the frequencies of another station owned by Grupa Radiowa Time, VOX FM. Since then, Eska Rock only broadcasts in Warsaw at 93.3 MHz, and has also been present online.
