Oeceoclades Longebracteata
''Oeceoclades longebracteata'' is a species of terrestrial orchid in the genus ''Oeceoclades'' that is endemism, endemic to southwestern and south-central Madagascar. It was first described by the French botanists Jean Marie Bosser and Philippe Morat in 2001. The type specimen was collected in 1970 by Jean Marie Bosser from dry forest undergrowth near Tsaramasao, south of Sakaraha. The botanical name, specific epithet ''longebracteata'' refers to the long bracts found along the inflorescence.Bosser, J., and P. Jean Marie Bosser (23 December 1922 – 6 December 2013), sometimes listed as Jean-Michel Bosser was a French botanist and agricultural engineer who worked extensively in Madagascar and Mauritius. Bosser was a researcher at the Laboratoire de Phanérogamie at the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle in Paris. From 1962 to 1963 he was the director of ORSTOM (Office de la recherche scientifique et technique outre-mer, now Institut de recherche pour le développement) in Antananarivo, Madagascar. The pseudobulb is a storage organ found in many epiphytic and terrestrial sympodial orchids. It is derived from a thickening of the part of a stem between leaf nodes and may be composed of just one internode or several, termed heteroblastic and homoblastic respectively. ''Oeceoclades decaryana'' is a terrestrial orchid species of the genus ''Oeceoclades'' that is native throughout southern and southeastern Africa. It can be found growing in Kenya, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, and KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. Philippe Morat (born 19 January 1937, in Saigon) is a researcher mainly in the field of tropical botany. He is a corresponding member of the French Academy of Sciences.
